  • America's Shadow in Latin America: Venezuela, Oil, and the Return of U.S. Imperial Power
    Jan 15 2026

Why is the U.S. involved in Venezuela and what does oil have to do with it?

In this thoughtful conversation, Marianne Williamson interviews the Center for Economic Policy and Research's Alex Main about U.S. foreign policy, Venezuela's political crisis, economic sanctions, and the history of American intervention in the region.

They discuss Hugo Chavez, Nicolas Maduro, U.S. oil interests, Cold War ideology, and the growing fear among Latin American nations of renewed U.S. imperialism. This conversation provides crucial context missing from mainstream media coverage.

After reading A Return to Love I wanted to hear more about what Marianne had to say. Wasn’t disappointed. The message is clear that Love is the answer.

Love is the answer

I love the way Marianne blends spirituality and progressivism in her Podcast. It serves as a fantastic reminder that spiritual people have a home in the Left. Each episode delves into deeper levels of discussion, and the guests have truly inspiring stories to tell. While Marianne's discussions teach the audience on a variety of topics,, her "ask Marianne" sections at the end of every episode allow her to help the audience on a personal level, too. Overall a fantastic podcast, and I've listened to every episode!

Fantastic.
