​On the fifth day of Lori Vallow Daybell's trial, Zulema Pastenes, who was briefly married to Vallow's brother, Alex Cox, provided critical testimony. She testified that Vallow and Chad Daybell taught that such individuals needed to be "released" to fulfill a divine plan.
