The guys often end the show by asking you and your fellow listeners for your own takes on everything from strange town names, crackpot military experiments and more. In today’s episode, Ben and Noel explore some of their favorite listener feedback and — for some reason — decide to check out their worst reviews online.

I love these guys! Previous reviewers have faulted their use of sound effects, and utilization of their excellent producer Casey on the case. These extra bells and whistles are like icing on the dark chocolate cake of a podcast these folks produce. Both of their voices are very warm and comforting. Ben Bolen has an enchanting and rich laugh. Some of their episodes might be a little light on actual historical content, but I find their side chat, and personal anecdotes (which previous reviewers have also faulted) delightful. iIt gives the listener a lovely little glimpse of the people they're listening to. This podcast is like hanging out with your buddies while you're doing work, and listening to all the interesting things they have to talk about, without having to talk yourself. I do find myself interjecting comments sometimes, which I wish they could hear. Plus, Ben Bowlin is a total smoke show! And Noel Brown has a truly magnificent beard. I salute you sir!

I am a history buff myself. And when an episode overlaps with another history podcast I've listened to, or a book that I've read on a certain subject, or period, it always rings true. They are not just reading Wikipedia articles; they have a real research. Other reviewers have criticized them for being too woke. I truly appreciate their sensitivity, and respect for All peoples. I wholly agree with them that any form of otherring is bad. I discovered this podcast a couple of months ago; and I have been plowing through the episodes every day at work. It makes the day fly by. I highly recommend this podcast.
