  • 214. The 5 Lessons I Learned from Redesigning Our Shopify Website
    Oct 29 2025

Surprise… we have a brand new website! 🎉

Honestly, updating our site was not on my 2025 bingo card. The old site was fine, it did the job, and I had a hundred other things on my plate. But after working with an incredible dev team on another project, they started poking holes in thelegalpaige.com—and I realized it was time to make a big change.

Now our new custom Shopify site is live (go to https://thelegalpaige.com
and check it out!) and in this episode, I’m sharing the 5 biggest takeaways from this process so you have a roadmap when it’s your turn to revamp your own website.

    Here’s what I cover:

    • Why website projects always take longer than you think (and how to budget your timeline so you don’t lose your mind).
    • Why you can’t disappear from the design process—even if you hire amazing experts.
    • How we used AI to speed things up, but why brand voice and human POV still matter more than anything.
    • Why templates are fine for the early stages, but custom is the right move when you’re ready to scale.
    • Why UX beats fancy features every time (and how we simplified navigation + product pages to make buying contracts easier).

This wasn’t just a facelift—it was about making thelegalpaige.com faster, easier to navigate, and more user-friendly for the thousands of small business owners who come to us for contracts, education, and resources.

👉 Go take a spin through the new site at https://thelegalpaige.com
and let me know what you think. If you tag me on Instagram with your favorite part of the new site, I’ll even send you coffee on me ☕—because launching a new website deserves a celebration, and I don’t want to celebrate this milestone alone.

  • 213. What Happens to Your Business When You Die?
    Oct 21 2025

If something happened to you tomorrow, would anyone know where your will is—or how to access your business bank account?

In this video I walk you through everything that belongs in your death folder (aka In Case of Death File, Peace-of-Mind Packet, etc.) —the essential plan that protects your loved ones, your clients, and your business if you’re suddenly not here. In it I cover:

✅ What a death folder is and why every business owner needs one
✅ The legal documents to include (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and more)
✅ How to organize your business accounts, passwords, and client contracts
✅ Why a digital directive is critical for your online assets
✅ Where to safely store your death folder (and who should have access)

  • 212. Insurance + COIs: What Every Wedding Vendor Needs to Know
    Oct 15 2025

Insurance might not be the sexiest part of running your business, but it’s one of the most important—and venues are requiring it more than ever from wedding vendors.

In this episode, I’m breaking down the 3 lines of defense every entrepreneur needs: contracts, insurance, and business structure. Including everything you need to know about business liability insurance for wedding vendors, photographers, DJs, planners, and other creatives. We’ll talk about Certificates of Insurance (COIs), “additionally insured” requests, and how to make sure you’re covered before you walk into a venue.

    Here’s what I cover:

    • Real stories from the industry: disco balls falling, priceless vases breaking, interns walking off with wedding gifts
    • Why most venues now require proof of insurance before you can work an event
    • What liability insurance actually covers (and why an LLC isn’t enough)
    • How much coverage you need as a photographer, DJ, florist, or planner
    • Annual coverage vs. day-of event insurance policies
    • What a COI is, how to get one quickly, and why venues ask for it
    • The difference between a certificate holder and being listed as additionally insured

Whether you’re a wedding photographer, DJ, florist, or event planner, this episode will help you understand the insurance requirements venues ask for and protect your business from financial ruin if something goes wrong.

If you’ve been putting this off, let this be your reminder to get covered. Call your insurance agent this week and ask about general liability insurance and COIs for event work. Protect your gear, your business, and your peace of mind.
