The Christian faith itself began with God’s expression of love through giving. The eternal gift of Christ is the foundation of our faith. In the same way, giving that truly matters to God must be rooted in love. It is possible to give without love but it’s impossible to love without giving. It is possible for believers to give out of pressure, routine, or personal motives, but when love is absent, such giving loses its spiritual value or recognition in the sight of God. Genuine love for God and for people naturally produces cheerful and willing giving, because love is always expressed through giving.
Profitable giving operates by some clear spiritual principles. Whatever is given in love is never wasted. A harvest follows every seed sown, in proportion to what is given and in the season determined by God. Charitable giving is presented as a vital way believers serve God and become channels through which His care reaches others. Often, true giving goes beyond convenience and enters the realm of sacrifice, stretching you beyond comfort and into deeper obedience. In that place, giving becomes both a spiritual investment for a greater harvest and a reflection of our heart for God and His kingdom.
