This episode of The Lavender Fix podcast features Jennifer Stout: a 30-year-old single mother and former member of the Mormon church, based in the United States. Jennifer grew up deeply embedded in religious tradition, conditioned to believe that being chosen; by a man, by a church, by a family system — was the ultimate goal.

But when she said yes to a proposal her gut was screaming no to, and found herself pregnant and alone just weeks after her wedding, she was forced to confront a lifetime of self-abandonment. What followed was a long, raw journey through divorce, motherhood, and unlearning.

In this episode, Jennifer shares what it means to leave the life she was taught to want — and build a new one rooted in self-trust, emotional healing, and conscious motherhood.

    • What does it mean to deconstruct faith and identity while raising a child?
    • How do we unlearn love shaped by survival?
    • What happens when we stop asking to be chosen, and start choosing ourselves?

    Tune in to find out!

  • Finding Love After Divorce: A Second First Time with Sabreen and Mr. B
    May 18 2025

In this episode of The Lavender Fix, I’m sharing something a little more personal.

A few years ago, I went through a divorce that left me questioning everything — not just about love, but about myself. I didn’t think I’d find love again. In fact, I wasn’t sure I even wanted to. The idea of starting over felt exhausting…and honestly, a bit hopeless.

But healing has a strange way of sneaking up on you when you're not looking. I spent time getting to know myself again; rebuilding trust with my own instincts, setting boundaries I’d previously let slide, and learning how to sit with silence instead of running from it.

And then, I met B. It wasn’t a grand love story or anything. It was steady. Safe. Kind. The kind of relationship I didn’t recognize at first because it didn’t trigger old patterns, and that’s exactly what made it right.

In this episode, I sit down with B and unpack what it looked like to move through the grief of divorce for both of us, and how we eventually ended up in the healthiest relationship of our lives. If you’ve been where I’ve been: heartbroken, tired, and unsure, I hope this one feels like a deep breath. 💙
