About Jo
A native of rural Mississippi, who now lives in Greenville, South Carolina, Jo is the author of Smack Dab in the Middle of Maybe, published by Random House Children’s books. Smack Dab was awarded the Southern Book Prize and is an Amazon Teacher’s Pick and a “Read Across America” selection.
A first-generation college graduate, Jo is on a mission to help students build skills that promote grit and resilience, improve writing skills, and connect with nature.
She is a keynote speaker and also loves to do school visits.
