One of the first things we did was visit a small school to help young children with reading.

It wasn’t just reading.

There was singing. Dancing. Chaos and joy!

The teachers were brilliant. Properly engaged. You could see they cared. You could see their love.

We only went once.

But as the weeks went on, that day stayed with me more than I expected.

The energy of the kids. The gratitude. The hunger to learn.

It does something to you.

The Girls’ Youth Club

We spent an afternoon at a girls’ youth club.

Each group performed a little play.

Only a few spoke English. We did a lot of smiling and guessing.

It was chaotic and funny and slightly awkward.

And then you realise — you’re standing at the front of a room and everyone is looking at you, waiting.

You either shrink.

Or you lean in.

When you lean in, something inside you changes.

You have to be better for others. You have to inspire.

The School With Two Computers

Then we visited a rural school.

About 650 students.

Two very old computers.

That’s it.

Two.

It hits differently when you’re standing there looking at them.

How does a child compete in a digital world with no digital tools?

That’s when the idea started forming.

One day, I want to take them a classroom full of computers.

Because I know that will directly impact them for the rest of their lives.

In the final part, I’ll tell you about the women’s wellbeing group — and why it’s one of the key reasons we’re going back.

I would love you to take a moment to subscribe to receive all my post. I would also love you to leave a brief comment on if this resonates with you. Finally, please share this with someone you think it will help. Lets create a world with less suffering together.
