  • Resumen

  • On November 13, 2022, four students from the University of Idaho are brutally stabbed to death in an off-campus house. After a lengthy investigation and cross-country manhunt, a Ph.D. student from a neighboring university is charged with the crimes. As it turns out, the 28-year-old was majoring in criminology, studying the behavior of killers like the ones he would later be accused of becoming. Did he use his skills to become a real-life Dexter? Were the Idaho victims his first, or was a serial killer hiding in the midst? The producers of The Piketon Massacre explore all sides of the shocking crime in pursuit of the truth.

Riveting , could be better, rabbit hole

So this is a horrible & fascinating true crime story. Careful research & investigative journalism evident. As mentioned in other reviews, there are a LOT of advertisements. Additionally, reporting becomes confusing & hard to follow in the midst repetition. New information gets lots in midst of repeating other parts of story. My friend recommended this podcast & now I’ve gone down a Piketon rabbit hole. Such a disturbing story.

Could Be Better

The story is interesting, and as far as podcasts go, this one isn't too bad in the way of narration. I have certainly heard much worse. My biggest problem with this podcast is the number of advertisements. The entire story could be told in much fewer episodes and seasons. 25 to 30-minute episodes that contain 15 minutes of ads get ridiculous.
