Acerca de esta escucha
San Antonio, 1994: Four Latina lesbians were accused of an unthinkable crime and spent nearly two decades in prison for something they didn’t do. In a time when queerness was treated like a crime, their identities became the only evidence needed to lock them up. But they never gave up. They spent years fighting to clear their names and fighting for each other. Today, we know them as The San Antonio Four.
The accusations came from two little girls, just weeks after one of the women, Elizabeth, rejected advances from their father. In the midst of the Satanic Panic, their case sparked a moral firestorm and exposed a justice system all too willing to believe the worst about queer women. This Pride Month, we’re telling their story. Because when the world tried to silence them… they refused to stay quiet.
