  • Xray or MRI?
    Feb 17 2021
This is one of the most common questions I get from athletes and parents. There is some confusion about imaging...the process, the need for it, which one is right, and what to do with the information. While some cheerleaders need imaging, many do not and in this episode we dive into what imaging is and when we would need it. Www.Thecheerdoc.Com Www.Hitzeronutrition.Com

    Nov 5 2020
In this episode we answer the questions: 0:55 Is there such thing as overtraining in cheer and what is the best way to strength and condition? -no, there is no such thing as over training, but only if you are doing one other thing properly and to your full ability   10:04 How can I improve my vertical jump height? -you may think working on jumps will make it higher, but there are other strategies that don't involve jumping that can increase jump height!   14:40 How can I build muscle to help with hyperextended joints? -the first thing we need to ask is if it's even causing a problem...if it is, give these two strategies a shot Don't miss this episode! www.thecheerdoc.com www.hitzeronutrition.com   SHOW LESS

  • Jerry Harris is a Predator
    Sep 30 2020

A few episodes back, we discussed an ongoing investigation on some high profile people in the cheer world and their alleged predatory actions. Names of victims in the predator were omitted to protect the anonymity of the children into respect the due process of law. Now it is clear who these people are. I suggested that coaches, parents, and gym owners keep their ears open and be willing to have tough conversations because more people would be coming forward with their own traumatic experiences. We are now starting to see that happen more and more. Continue to talk to your athletes and kids and let’s keep progress moving forward until all kids can feel safe and listened to.
