The Hardcore Record Podcast - Episode 20 - Jenny Woo

I asked Jenny to join me because I always saw what she stood for and what an inspiration she is

Trailblazing new ways by tearing down walls
Fighting oppression within the punk and Oi! scene

She is an inspiration to all

So, go have those conversations about change at shows, at a coffee house, a bar or pub, with friends and make new friends, you never know what you could become if the right spark gets said

Then check out her music, her lyrics, go to one her show and listen to her voice of Oi!

    Enjoy!

Getting to talk to Rob was a pleasure. During this talk he asked about what draws me to or what I like about the Bitter Tongues album. I had an answer but as I sat with this for a bit after the talk, I wondered what this bad has meant to me. I expressed it in a poem as this is how I express myself in life.

Please have a listen and enjoy!

3 Chords, Our Truth and the Capacity we Hold in Ourselves

    Words un - ended

    Exchanged in unison

Hellos, goodbyes and see you later my friends

We were all drawn to this, to scream and shout out our imperfections and frustrations, all while finding out who we are

    Sometimes it begins

    Sometimes it ends

Sometimes it gets picked back up again

It's a coming together of like minds

What you create is a gift

    And you have given

The one thing I have learned over the years is that everything can shift the older we get

As to where it goes is still open

I am living and embracing myself in a way I only ever dreamed of by reaching out and sharing that with whoever wants to listen

I hope it can become - what some call inspiration - to others like this Richmond punk band has done for me

They have been a voice that has helped me define a relationship with the experiences I have lived in these moments that I’ve had with the music that we all share!
