  • 132 Lifting Each Other Up: Why I Created the Sanity-Saver Certificates
    Aug 21 2024

    Hey there!

It’s been a while since you have heard from me. I have been very busy with family obligations, caring for a 90-year-old mother with dementia, and just creating a lot of programs and things behind the scenes.

While I’ve been showing up online in written form and in video form, I have not created a podcast in quite a while. So this was the first one in a while, and I wanted to make sure that I shared this one with you so that you would have an understanding of what I have been working on behind the scenes.

As you know, I am a wellness and retention strategist, an executive coach for Black and Brown women, and an AI integration specialist for small businesses.

In my role, I work with Black and Brown women, as well as companies and organizations, to try to identify, well-being programs that will help our Black and Brown women excel in the workplace regardless of what’s going on in their lives.

So I wanted to share with you a blog that I wrote.

Actually, it’s my newsletter on LinkedIn. If you’re not currently subscribed to the newsletter, you will want to do so so that you don’t miss out!

Today’s newsletter was titled Lifting Each Other Up: Why I Created the Sanity Saver Certificates. So maybe you don’t even know what the Sanity-Saver Certificates™are. Let me share that with you…

So in my quiet time, quiet time from the podcast, I have been working on creating the Corporate She-Roes Collection™. It is a collection of different certificates. There will be 5 different collections of certificates that will honor the unsung heroes in the corporate space. The things that Black and Brown women do every day but don’t get recognition for. These are things that we talk to each other about, right?

So when we’re having a bad day, either our work bestie will give us these kudos, in the hallway or if we’re having to go to lunch together, go for a walk, even when we’re just running to the bathroom. They see us in the bathroom, they see our sad look, they ask what’s wrong, then they give us these titles for being these ‘superheroes’ in the workplace.

I decided instead of it just instead of it just being 1 on 1 with me and my clients or me and my besties – my work besties and my, you know, lifetime besties – instead of us just supporting each other and doing it on a smaller scale, I decided to create these certificates, the Corporate She-Roes Collection™, and start with the Sanity-Saver Certificates™. Because if there is one thing that we need as Black and Brown women in the workplace, it is definitely some encouragement, our kudos.

We need to get our flowers while we’re still living. We need to understand and know that we’re being appreciated.

I’d like to share with you today, the newsletter Lifting Each Other Up: Why I Created the Sanity-Saver Certificates.

  • 130 Showing Care Through Innovative Well-Being Programs
    Apr 27 2024

Our next podcast for diversity month highlights the shift in forward thinking companies towards prioritizing employee well-being over traditional productivity measures. It highlights the need for innovative wellness programs, covering physical, emotional, mental, and social health, especially during diversity month.

By showcasing initiatives like the Conversations in Color™ Workshop and the Coloring Her Dreams™ coloring book, it emphasizes creating an inclusive culture that values employees holistically. Such programs are crucial for supporting Black and Brown women in the corporate sphere, offering spaces for their voices and growth led by women with shared experiences.

I boldly call on leaders to adopt these out of the box versus checking the box solutions to foster a more caring and connected workplace.

I found this media while I was trying to find my way in the corporate world of healthcare. I struggled with imposter syndrome and learning about the the way the “game” is played. I learned quickly that there is space for me in this game but I need to tailor my approach. Almost each episode resonated with something I felt or something I couldn’t find a way to describe in the way corporate would take into consideration. This podcast has opened my eyes so much and let me know I am definitely not alone and given me tools to manage what my needs are to continue to grow. I am so appreciative for this and look forward for more gems to build on my foundation as a young black woman in a corporate or entrepreneur structure.
