  • No Integrity in DC and a Prolife Dustup in SC
    Oct 11 2025

    Send us a text

The big news this week revolved around the DC shutdown over budget debates and then Donald Trump brokering a Peace Plan between Hamas and Israel. Hannah provides context for the budget that has DC in gridlock and discusses how maybe it isn't as bad as folks are saying for DC to be shut down. While it's early yet as far as peace talks are concerned, Hannah does discuss Trump's Peace Plan and what we can expect in the coming days with what we know now. Finally, bringing it home to South Carolina, Hannah spends the last portion of her podcast sharing about a dustup that occurred this week over a pro-life bill, S323. South Carolina Citizens for Life has a differing policy approach regarding pro-life legislation than S323 but while that's acceptable, they spread misinformation regarding the bill this week and that is problematic. Join Hannah as she dives into what's going on around the world!

Meanwhile, Hannah encourages listeners to think on Philippians 4:8 as they consume information.

One of the stories Hannah covers this week is the response to Charlie Kirk's memorial that she saw-- from a few disgruntled Monday morning quarterbacks to an awestruck British viewer. Was the Kirk memorial idolatry? Or inappropriate? Another story from the week was Robert F. Kennedy and Donald Trump's announcement regarding their three pronged approach to the five-fold increase in autism diagnoses since 2000. What did they say about Tylenol? And what didn't they say about vaccines? Join the discussion!

  • Freedom of Speech vs Freedom of Business Owners
    Sep 20 2025

    Send us a text

In the aftermath of Charlie Kirk's assassination, leftists across the country celebrated Charlie's death online. Right wing folks rose up en masse and demanded many of these people be fired by their employers. These included doctors, professors, teachers, and even Office Depot employees. Then Pam Bondi got involved and she made statements about hate speech and the federal government getting involved which, rightly, enflamed many right leaning Americans. Many Conservatives are accusing other Conservatives of embracing "cancel culture" and many Liberals are saying this infringes on American citizens' right to Freedom of Speech. Are either of these accusations true? In today's podcast, Hannah covers what Freedom of Speech really means and whether "cancel culture" should be utilized by Conservatives or not.

  • How We Should Respond When Christian Leaders Fall
    Sep 6 2025

    Send us a text

Hannah invited her Dad, Dr. Robert Jackson, to join her this week to discuss this important topic. As soon as you read the title, a leader within your personal circle or within Christendom at large probably came to mind. All of us have some level of experience with a Christian leader failing, so how should we respond? Is a church’s response different from an individual’s response? What do we do with that leader’s material? How do we protect ourselves from a similar fate since we are all imperfect people? Hannah and her Dad answer these questions and more in this meaningful discussion.

  • Donald Trump and The Smithsonian | Homeschool Hints: Science
    Aug 30 2025

Donald Trump made a comment this week about the Smithsonian being "out of control" and declared that they will be going through the Smithsonian as they've done colleges and universities. What did he mean by his comment about slavery? How is the Smithsonian out of control? Well, Hannah's parents visited the Smithsonian this year and their visit offers some interesting insight into what Trump could be talking about. In the Homeschool Hints segment, Hannah discusses getting outside of her comfort zone and choosing a curriculum that she's not had a lot of experience with personally. Has she enjoyed it so far? What are the things she hasn't liked? Does she recommend this approach? Today's podcast covers all this and more.

  • The Controversial Case of Kim Davis | Homeschool Hints: Grammar and Spelling Selections
    Aug 16 2025

While Hannah doesn't typically like to react to things she sees on social media, a particular post regarding Kim Davis' potential upcoming Supreme Court hearing brought up some interesting points Hannah felt compelled to walk through with her listeners. For those who don't remember, Kim Davis is the Rowan county clerk in Kentucky who refused to sign marriage licenses following the Obergefell v Hodges decision. The particular post making rounds argued that the Constitution applies differently to government employees and it was unConstitutional for Davis to refuse to sign marriage licenses. Furthermore, it claimed that she should have stepped down if she couldn't sign them and that she, along with Christians who supported her, was a hypocrite for discriminating against same-sex couples but not sinners of other varieties. Lastly, the author of the post argued that Jesus would have behaved much differently than Davis and the Christians who support her. In today's podcast, Hannah addresses whether each of these claims is true and whether Christians should adhere to these admonishments. In the Homeschool Hints segment, Hannah continues her series of sharing the curriculum she chose for her homeschool this year. This week she discusses grammar and spelling, which curriculum she chose and why she chose it; plus, cost and other sundry aspects.
