The Grit City Podcast is a weekly audio experience like no other! Hosted from the vibrant city of Tacoma, Washington - also known as "Grit City," our show has been entertaining and informing listeners since 2014. And what a ride it's been! Every week, we release a new episode that introduces you to the dynamic and inspiring individuals who call the Pacific Northwest home. From local business owners and entrepreneurs to authors, artists, and unique characters, our guests embody the hard-working, blue-collar spirit that Grit City is known for. And let's not forget the occasional drug-fueled weirdo we may have met at a comedy club the night before! The Grit City Podcast first launched back in the summer of 2014 and quickly built a loyal fanbase of listeners who appreciated the show's unique perspective on the Seattle/Tacoma area. After a brief hiatus in 2017, the podcast was rebooted in 2018, with even more friends and family members involved. It quickly regained its "must listen to" status and went on to deliver an impressive 275 episodes and counting, delivering over 280 hours of audio content to our fans since. With no signs of slowing down soon! Our mission at The Grit City Podcast is simple: to bring the hard-working spirit of the Pacific Northwest to the world and have a good time doing it! Scott reflects on why July 4th is close to his heart, Jeff talks about attending Cnote’s professional fireworks show, and Scott talks about visiting the Taste of the Northwest at the Puyallup fairgrounds. 18:08 – Jeff discusses the Cobra Kai incident at Summer Con, Scott expresses his appreciation for how the show hit the ’80s nostalgia points, and Jeff shares what happened at the event.     The guys kick off the episode playing Jackbox Survey Scramble, they test out gaming on Discord, graduation, road construction, old man weather, the crow attack, and much, much more! 01:34 – Jeff welcomes users, Scott shares the game they’re playing, and they share the exciting story of how they met. Scott talks about a UFC fighter back in the day that used laxatives to cut weight pre-fight, they talk about lessons learned, and kick off the game. They both vote on the first topic, they try another game, and make plans for hosting a party pack. 16:41 – The crew quests through a scenario-based game, plans to stream games on Twitch, and Jeff discusses his recent trip to eastern Washington for his grandson’s graduation. He talks about powering through an awkward situation at the graduation, the reward of the night, and the crazy construction on I-90. 32:03 – Jeff talks about the new apartments going in, Scott talks about the trains during Covid, and his appreciation for public transportation in the area.     Brogan joins the crew on this episode with an update on the happs in Louisiana, they discuss Tubi, cannabis benefits, podcast party plans, crawfish, and alligators! Congrats to friend and supporter of the podcast, Chancey, and his first grandchild!! 01:53 – Brogan kicks off this episode, shares how people down south introduce themselves, and talks about the recent tornado warnings in the area. He talks about the low price of gas, the cost of a Big Mac, and it being the end of the fresh crawfish season. Jeff talks about planning to see the aurora borealis, the best times to catch it, and Scott reflects on last week's hot topic - Jean Burrito. 15:26 – Scott gives a shout-out to Chancey becoming a new grandfather, makes t-shirt plans, and Jeff talks about watching old movies on Tubi. He talks about how disturbing it was to watch a movie without background music, Brogan expresses his sadness about the beer situation in Louisiana, and the beer he’s had to adjust to since being there. 28:17 - Brogan shares the drink of choice for those on the LSU campus, they discuss how the Espresso Martini is the new Red Bull and Vodka, and Brogan talks about how frequently he sees alligators.
