  • Episode 122: District Office Training Visit!
    Apr 17 2026

Today's episode discusses an upcoming district office visit training event designed to help homeschool families learn how to confidently engage with their legislators. Nathan Pierce and Jennifer Avila walk through exactly what the training will look like, what you’ll experience during a real district office visit, and why this is one of the most effective ways to protect homeschool freedom in California. You’ll hear how these visits actually work, why they’re much more relaxed than people expect, and how this event is designed to help you overcome fear and take that first step into advocacy. If you’ve ever thought about getting involved but didn’t know where to start, this training is built for you.

  • Episode 121: The Bad Bill Report Part 2
    Apr 9 2026

In this episode, Nathan from Family Protection Ministries unpacks current legislation in California that could impact homeschool freedom and parental rights. He highlights how this season—often called “Hell Month”—brings a surge of bills, some of which increase government oversight in education, curriculum, and family decision-making.

Nathan stresses the importance of staying informed and engaged, encouraging listeners to track legislation, contact their representatives, and take part in advocacy efforts to protect their rights.

Alongside the legislative updates, he offers a faith-based perspective rooted in Psalm 3, reminding listeners to trust in God’s sovereignty and remain confident and steadfast in challenging times.

  • Episode 120: Beyond the Bills: Who Has Jurisdiction Over Your Child?
    Apr 2 2026

In this episode, we explore jurisdiction—the biblical idea that authority is given by God, limited, and assigned to specific spheres like the family and civil government. When those lines are clear, freedom is protected. When they are blurred, power begins to drift—usually toward the state.

    We cover:

    • Why the family is the primary sphere of education
    • Why education is never neutral
    • The proper role of government
    • How authority expands when boundaries are unclear

We also apply this framework to current California legislation:

    • AB 2092 (Early Childhood Integrated Data System)
    • SB 1188 (JROTC access for homeschool students)
    • Broader concerns with ESAs and early schooling mandates

Some of these policies may seem reasonable—but the deeper question is not just what works, but who has authority.

Because freedom is rarely lost all at once… it erodes one step at a time.
