  • The President Stands By His Tough Approach To Immigration Enforcement
    Jun 10 2025
There have been days of anger and unrest in Los Angeles over illegal immigration raids and arrests. The ICE operations that sparked the protests began on Friday, the same day that perhaps the most infamous deportee, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, was brought back to the U.S. after spending weeks in El Salvador. Although he’s back in America, thanks to a Supreme Court order, he will now face federal human trafficking charges. Texas Republican Michael McCaul joins the FOX News Rundown to discuss Abrego Garcia’s case, the unrest in Los Angeles, and why he believes there was a need for President Trump’s tough immigration policies following four years of the Biden administration. It is primary day in the New Jersey gubernatorial race. While it's an off-year election, voter turnout and the extent to which President Trump's agenda is on voters' minds will draw significant attention. In recent elections, Republicans have made progress flipping blue districts red and attempting to turn the state purple. The Chairman of the Republican National Committee, Michael Watley, joins the Rundown to discuss whether his party's momentum in states like New Jersey will continue into 2026, what the race in the Garden State may tell us about the national trends, and the importance of Congress passing that 'one big, beautiful bill'. Plus, commentary from AEI Senior Fellow and former CPB board member, Howard Husock. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  • A New Approach To Driving Down Drug Prices
    Jun 9 2025
The cost of healthcare is a concern nationwide, but Arkansas is trying to lead the way in bringing price relief to patients, particularly when it comes to prescription drugs. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders recently signed a new law banning pharmacy benefits managers from owning and operating pharmacies in her state. PBMs are third-party companies that act as intermediaries or middlemen between insurance companies, big pharma, and pharmacies and are supposed to negotiate for lower costs through rebates and discounts. However, President Trump and his administration have recently called them out for helping to drive up the price of drugs in the country. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders joins the Rundown to explain her state’s efforts to get prices down and how she hopes other states and the federal government will follow Arkansas's lead. While the President’s tariff strategy and efforts to reshape what he sees as an unfair trade system have created some uncertainty on both Wall Street and Main Street, the latest jobs data suggest the labor market is holding steady. Many investors took Friday’s May jobs report as a sign that a recession isn’t imminent. However, the housing market, inflation, interest rates, and other factors are still a concern. FOX Business Network's Gerri Willis joins the Rundown to discuss the state of the economy, including why she believes the housing market is under pressure but remains optimistic about the American consumer. • Extra: Progress And New Found Hope In The Fight Against Fentanyl
    Jun 7 2025
There are signs that America may be turning the tide on the fentanyl crisis. Across the country, the numbers show that overdose deaths from the powerful opioid and other drugs are dropping significantly. Recent analysis of U.S. data by researchers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill indicates that deaths began declining in late 2023, when they reached a peak of 114,000. Now, the CDC suggests they’re below 87,000. This comes at a time when fentanyl seizures at the U.S.-South border are decreasing—something the White House says is a sign that their border policies and efforts to curb the flow of illegal drugs are working. Earlier this week, Dr. Nabarun Dasgupta, a scientist and researcher at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, joined host Gurnal Scott to discuss the trend and why his research suggests fentanyl deaths are on the decline. Dr. Dasgupta explained how multiple factors, including awareness, the use of Narcan, increased border security, and even politics, have all contributed to the improvement. However, he also warned that America is not yet out of the woods. We made some edits for time, and thought you might like to hear the whole conversation. Today on Fox News Rundown Extra, we will share our entire interview with Dr. Nabarun Dasgupta and allow you to hear more of his take on the state of the fentanyl crisis.
