For basketball fans in NEA, the holiday season isn’t complete without the NEA Invitational Tournament at FNB Arena. As the oldest high school basketball tournament in Arkansas—and one of the longest-running in the nation—the NEA Invitational is more than just games on a college court. It’s a tradition, a reunion, and a cornerstone of the local basketball culture. With the 78th edition set for 2025, the tournament once again promises several days of outstanding boys’ and girls’ basketball across multiple classifications.
This episode features interviews with two NEA Tournament Committee members who are also active coaches: Jason Smith of Greene County Tech and Buster Campbell of Riverside. Marcus also sits down with Clover Bend legend Scottie Pierce, who shares vivid memories of competing in the NEA back when it was played at the old Indian Fieldhouse
