  • What is Trophium? - w/ Doug Vander Molen
    Feb 20 2026
You've probably heard us mention Trophium on the podcast. This week, we sat down with Doug VanderMolen, one of the co-founders, to dig into what the app actually is and why it exists. Doug's background is in tech. He spent years at Google and has built his career around making products that actually work for people. He met his co-founder Jeff on a bike trip through Mississippi, and Jeff pitched him a problem: he'd been hunting and fishing his whole life but had no good way to capture and remember those experiences. That's where Trophium came from. We talked about what makes it different from general social media, the outfitter program they're building, and where they want to take it over the next five years. • Trad Bow Talks w/ Matthew Morris
    Feb 13 2026
Matthew Morris hosts the Bowyer Podcast and has spent the last few years deep in traditional archery—making his own bows, hunting with stick and string, and talking to the craftsmen behind the craft. In this episode, we get into what draws people to trad archery, the line between traditional and primitive, and why the community should celebrate anyone picking up a stick bow. Matthew also talks about his first whitetail buck with a longbow this fall after four years of trying, chasing bears with hounds in Arizona, and the freedom that comes with grabbing whatever's on the wall and heading into the woods. A good conversation about finding your thing outdoors and putting in the work to get it done. • Garden State Giants w/ Steve Richards
    Feb 6 2026
Steve Richards has spent his entire life hunting and trapping in New Jersey—a state most people don't think of as sportsman's country. In this episode, he talks about growing up in the Pine Barrens, learning to snare coyotes from a mentor his dad thought was too wild to introduce him to, and chasing 400-pound bears in North Jersey. Steve shares the lesson that changed his trapping: why coyotes kept stopping at his snares and going around, and the simple fix that finally got him catching. He also talks about his daughter's first bear with a bow, the year he almost gave up on a big nine-pointer only to find out another hunter stuck it and lost it, and why he never left New Jersey despite years of planning to move west. A good conversation about finding opportunity wherever you are and putting in the work to make it happen.
