Ultimately, she did not, after attempting to get more time from the court to make her decision. The defense rested their case, and the prosecution will not be bringing a rebuttal. Closing arguments are scheduled for tomorrow morning, September 4, 2025.A significant portion of the day was spent discussing a second violation of the witness sequestration order by the defense. The judge expressed frustration that her instructions were not being followed, as a defense expert witness was present in the courtroom during another witness's testimony. Despite the prosecution's request for exclusion, the judge reserved her ruling, noting that exclusion is an extreme remedy and could create appellate issues if Donna Adelson is convicted. The defense called two witnesses: Kristin Adamson, Wendi's Previous Family Law Attorney and Linda Bailey, a Family Law Attorney Expert, to discuss the Markel divorce case. Their aim seemed to be to downplay the contentious nature of the divorce, arguing it was a "normal" case and not as emotionally charged as the prosecution portrayed. However, the prosecution's cross-examination highlighted that even routine legal matters can be highly impactful and emotionally charged for the litigants involved, echoing Donna Adelson's own emails about the divorce being critical. With the defense and prosecution both resting, the court moved to the charging conference to finalize jury instructions for charges including first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and solicitation of murder. The trial saw 27 witnesses for the prosecution and 12 for the defense over eight days. The upcoming closing arguments are expected to be lengthy, and deliberations could begin tomorrow. Donna Adelson's decision not to testify was likely strategic, as her testimony could have potentially hurt her case. The argument that she needed more time to decide on testifying is dismissed as unlikely to succeed on appeal, given the extensive time and continuances already provided to the defense. This interview was wonderful. So interesting to hear about his journey thru life. His music is very good. I hope he continues to do more of that as well as his law work. I need to go back and catch his wife's name to see if she has music on Spotify too. Great job Emily - your interviews and live streams are not only illuminating and entertaining but I love how you help other people wether its just bringing attention to them or giving them advice in how to navigate you tube etc.

Emily does an amazing job breaking down lawsuits for everyone to understand. I've been following Leah Remini acting carrier for a very long time. When she left Scientology is when I learned so much about what happens to people that leave. IMO the church is a cult. I watched Leah's special about leaving the church and seen a lot of stuff that happen to her as well as others. When she talked about her friend Shelly being missing I got worried. I hope Emily will cover this case as it plays out in the court.

Emily always makes things interesting and so very clear, as well as being quite good with presenting all sides. I'm happy for her continued success! She deserves it! This is an excellent podcast (and YouTube channel) and I highly recommend it to everybody even remotely interested in nationally known legal cases. I've never heard or watched an episode that was boring, no matter which case she is covering.

Aside from always making things extremely interesting and clear, she is very good with presenting all sides, which I appreciate a lot. It's refreshing to have someone present the facts without just presenting what they feel personally. Unfortunately, most people just give their view and that's it. Its a common thing these days (even in legacy media) and an unwelcome trend. I appreciate that even when it is obvious where her opinion lies, she will argue with equal fervor other positions. I like to form my own opinion and not just be told what to think about something and Emily delivers!
