Educating the equine industry to bring us closer together as a community! I have always been passionate about promoting the equine industry and helping to inspire the next generation of horsemen and women. One of my main goals with this podcast is to provide new learning opportunities to grow their and my own knowledge of other disciplines, breeds, and several different topics that they are not apart of or no nothing about! I want to open people's minds to continue to learn more about horses and the industry to help continue their education as we are always learning and growing! I also want to help bridge the gap between the different worlds we seem to have created within the industry.

On today's episode, I am sharing my amazing conversation with a lady who I not only grew up showing horses with, but also has built an incredible career as an equestrian team coach. Tabatha Taylor is the head coach of the Texas Tech Equestrian Team and a longtime friend who has so many great insights into the challenges facing collegiate equestrian teams today and how we can help to ensure their future in the industry.

The important impact being on a team can have on a student athlete's education and life from diversity, networking, and so much more. How it is important for them to stay connected with their community in the equine industry. Also, for the students who are looking to ride on a team in college or maybe you're a parent of a student she shares such amazing advice on what she looks for as a coach, how to choose the best team and school that is best suited for you, getting noticed by teams, and so more! I feel this episode will inspire more important conversations on this important topic and I hope it will help students who dream of riding on a competitive equestrian team!

  • Happy New Year! Ending 2025 with a Bang and Looking to The Future of Lesson Programs in the Equine Industry with Christy Landwehr
    Dec 31 2025

    Send us a text

On today's episode, it seems only fitting to talk about the future on New Year's Eve. I sat down and talked with Christy Landwehr who is very well accredited Master Riding Instructor and NRHA Sponsorship Director to name a few of her titles.

Lesson programs play such a vital role for so many riders in the equine industry and a lot of us can remember that first lesson pony or horse we rode for the first time that we fell in love with and who changed our lives forever! In this episode, Christy and I discuss how what defines a lesson horse today has changed and how trainers in specific disciplines can do more to introduce new riders to the sport of riding. How open and honest communication between instructors and parents is essential to the safety of the student and for the running of the instructor's business, how thinking creatively can help attract parents to lesson programs and so many more topics.

As we look into the 2026 and all the hopes and goals we have for the year, it is important to be having these type of conversations to remember that a student's first experience in the saddle is positive for them to continue to grow and thrive in the industry!
