The Ecocide Report Episode 10: September 2024

Welcome to Episode 10 of The Ecocide Report!

In this episode, Chidi and Jojo dive into recent major ecocide law developments, including the historic proposal to criminalise ecocide at the International Criminal Court (Sept 9th), an Ipsos Global Commons Survey revealing that 72% of people across G20 countries support making ecocide a crime, and the One Dress: Planet project (a collaboration between SEI and designer Lucy Tammam), which debuted at London Fashion Week (Sept 12th). Jojo also provides a rundown of upcoming events, including ‘Earth, Sun & Moon: law & peaceful cooperation in outer space’ at New York Climate Week, official side events at COP16 and plans for COP29, and a trio of Ecocide Alliance meetings for parliamentarians, to be held in English, French, and Spanish over the coming weeks and months.
