The Duggars: Counting the Charges A Hidden Killers Investigation

You watched them. Maybe you loved them. Nineteen kids, matching outfits, scripture on the walls, and a smile for every camera. For years, the Duggar family was America's idea of what a wholesome household looked like. TLC built a franchise around them. Brands lined up. Churches invited them to speak.

Now we're counting something else entirely.

Josh Duggar is serving 12 years in federal prison after his conviction on child sexual abuse material charges. His brother Joseph Duggar was arrested in March 2026 and faces charges of lewd and lascivious behavior — allegations that he molested a 9-year-old girl during a family vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida. According to the arrest affidavit, he admitted to the behavior — twice. His wife Kendra was arrested the following day on misdemeanor charges including child endangerment.

Two brothers. Two arrests. One family that spent decades telling the world they had the answers.

This is Hidden Killers' full investigative coverage of the criminal cases against the Duggar family — the charges, the timeline, the system that made it possible, and the victims who were failed long before any of this became a headline. We're not here to pile on a family in crisis. We're here to ask the questions that the cameras never did — and follow this case wherever it goes.

Because when a family builds an empire on moral authority, accountability doesn't stop at one arrest. It counts every single one.

New episodes drop as the cases develop. Subscribe so you don't miss a thing.

  • Inside the Duggar Empire: How Jim Bob Kept Control — and the Cash
    Mar 31 2026

As a grown woman with her own children, Jill Duggar still needed her father’s permission to enter the family compound. Her husband says Jim Bob Duggar controlled their TLC contracts and paychecks, making major decisions without their real consent. Jill calls it cult-like.

For ten years, millions saw the Duggars as wholesome family TV — but behind the cameras was a business built on control. In Part 2 of our five-part Hidden Killers Duggar series, Tony Brueski digs into the financial structure, network relationship, and what those who grew up inside say it truly cost them.

Troubling information about the family surfaced online in 2007. TLC aired the show until 2015, canceled it — then launched a spinoff that lasted eleven seasons, ending only after Josh Duggar’s federal arrest. Two cancellations. Two apologies. One steady stream of profit in between.

This is Part 2 of 5.

  • Duggar Children: The People Who Were Supposed to Protect Them Didn't
    Mar 31 2026

The Duggar family built a public identity on the promise that they put their children above everything else. Large family. Deep faith. Clear values. All of it televised as a model worth watching.

And then the things actually happening inside that model kept coming out. Josh Duggar abused family members while the family managed it internally and kept it from law enforcement. Josh Duggar again, convicted on federal charges involving child sexual abuse material, now serving twelve and a half years in prison. Joseph Duggar, arrested and accused of molesting a then-9-year-old girl during a 2020 family vacation in Florida — incidents he allegedly admitted to, first to the victim's father, then to detectives. He faces felony charges in Florida. He and Kendra have both been separately charged in Arkansas with child endangerment and false imprisonment. Their four children — the oldest seven, the youngest around three — are now at the center of this.

The question one listener asked that I haven't been able to set aside: did the victims — across all of this, spanning years and multiple incidents — ever receive a real apology? Not a public statement. Not a lawyer's carefully worded release. An actual, private, human moment where someone looked them in the eye and said it and meant it.

Has anyone in this family ever done that for the people who were harmed?

Today, retired FBI Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program Chief Robin Dreeke joins me to go through your listener questions. Many of them aren't about procedure or charges — they're about the people. The kids who grew up in that house. The victims who are still living inside what happened. And the children of Joseph and Kendra who didn't choose any of this and are now caught in the middle of it.

Someone needed to choose them first. We're going to talk about why that didn't happen.
