  • What We Have Learned From Each Other
    Nov 10 2025

In this episode, things take a turn almost immediately — welcome back to Out of Context Weekly Scenarios. This week’s questions are simple yet absolutely baffling: Why did Imran confidently pick Harambe as his celebrity of choice in a guessing game? And who thought it was a good idea to gift Shaun 36 toilet rolls — and why did he accept them so proudly?

Our Topic of the Week, takes a much more serious turn: what we’ve learned from each other over the years. We talk about the ways friendships quietly shape us — how they challenge us, steady us, and sometimes reveal parts of ourselves we didn’t know existed. It’s a reflection on growth, accountability, and the kind of trust that only builds through time and honesty.

Then, in Pop Culture & Current Affairs, we’re diving into our favourite chocolate bars growing up in Ireland — the nostalgic staples, the discontinued legends, and the ones that defined schoolyard trades and after-school snacks.

And finally, we close with Your Distance Dilemmas — real listener stories of friendship, communication, and the challenges that come with growing apart or finding your way back.

As always, it’s just the two of us — talking nonsense, diving into the serious moments, and finding a balance between laughter and the things that really matter."

    Nov 3 2025

In this episode, things take a turn almost immediately — welcome back to Out of Context Weekly Scenarios. From an emotional encounter involving koi fish to Shaun punching the back seat of his car over a Chelsea game, we’re starting strong with confusion, chaos, and questionable life choices.

Our Topic of the Week? The strangest things we’ve ever seen on public transport. From full-blown arguments over exact change to unexpected singalongs on late-night routes, we’re exploring the unspoken social codes, unpredictable characters, and pure madness that make Irish bus journeys what they are. If you’ve ever sat through a heated debate on the 145 or witnessed someone carrying a goat on the Bus Éireann, this one’s for you.

Then, in Pop Culture & Current Affairs, we’re discussing Catherine Connolly’s election as President of Ireland — what it means for the country, why it’s such a fascinating political moment, and how Ireland somehow always finds a way to surprise us.

And finally, we close with Your Distance Dilemmas — real listener stories of friendship, communication, and the challenges that come with growing apart or finding your way back.

As always, it’s just the two of us — talking nonsense, reacting to madness, and finding small bits of meaning (and laughter) in between it all.

  • The Importance Of Dogs
    Oct 27 2025

In this episode, things get weird fast — welcome back to Out of Context Weekly Scenarios. From suicidal sheep to the bizarre mystery of poop somehow connected to Ange Postecoglou, we’re kicking things off with the kind of chaos even we can’t explain.

Our Topic of the Week? The importance of dogs — what they mean to us, how they keep us grounded, and why life just wouldn’t be the same without them. Expect a mix of deep appreciation, emotional confessions, and a few stories that prove dogs might actually be the best people we know.

Then, in our Pop Culture & Current Affairs section, we talk about how hard Halloween really is for dogs. Between the costumes, fireworks, doorbells, and endless strangers in masks, it’s basically a month-long nightmare for our furry friends. We unpack the chaos, share our own pet horror stories, and try to figure out if there’s any way to make spooky season a little less terrifying for them.

And finally, we return to Your Distance Dilemmas — real listener stories filled with friendship drama, tough choices, and a few moments that make us yell, “What were they thinking?”

As always, it’s just the two of us — talking nonsense, reacting to madness, and finding small bits of meaning (and laughter) in between it all.

  • A Look Back on 32 Episodes
    Sep 1 2025

In this episode, we’re taking a breather, and what better way to do that than by reflecting on everything we’ve been through? First up, Imran’s heading back to college! After a bit of a gap, he’s diving into project management, and we’re all about those “back to school” vibes. The idea of textbooks, late-night study sessions, and group projects is both exciting and a little nerve-wracking. It’s a solid reminder of how much we’ve grown, both in and out of the classroom.

Meanwhile, Shaun’s still buzzing about his new car—definitely a big upgrade from what he had before. But that comes with a bittersweet goodbye to Betsy, our trusty old ride that’s been through thick and thin with us. You know, the kind of car that always started, even if it sounded like it was on its last legs. RIP Betsy, you’ve earned your rest.

We also dive into a topic that’s been on our minds a lot lately—reflecting on the 31 episodes we’ve done together. It’s crazy to think back to where we started and where we’ve come. From some wild topics to deep, introspective moments, we’ve shared a lot. We talk about our favorite moments, the unexpected twists, and the conversations that have really stuck with us.

And as the cherry on top, we announce that we’re taking a break from the podcast. Yeah, we know—it’s a little bittersweet. Scheduling’s been tricky, and we both agree that it’s time to step back for a bit and recharge. Don’t worry, though—we’re not disappearing forever. Just hitting pause for now.

As always, it’s just the two of us, reminiscing, reflecting, and appreciating the journey we’ve had so far. Stay tuned, we’ll be back before you know it.

  • Let’s Talk Gigs
    Aug 25 2025

In this episode, things take a bit of a turn. We kick off with Imran nearly getting frauded—Instagram hacked, chaos unfolding—but thankfully, he managed to wrestle his account back. A wild ride, and a solid reminder to check those privacy settings.

Meanwhile, Shaun’s buzzing about his new car. Big upgrade vibes. But with that excitement comes a bittersweet farewell to Betsy—our beloved, slightly falling-apart car that’s been with us through everything. RIP Betsy, you did us proud.

Shaun also finally watched Interstellar for the first time (yes, really), and we get into that whole emotional rollercoaster. From wormholes to crying in space, it's a lot.

Then we dive into the GOAT TV shows of all time. The heavy-hitters, the underrated gems, the comfort watches—we try (and fail) to narrow it down.

Finally, we wrap things up talking gigs: ticket prices, best live acts we've seen, and why nothing really beats the chaos and magic of live music.

As always, just the two of us—chatting life, unpacking moments, and trying to make sense of it all.
