De: Jordan and Megumi
  • Resumen

  • These are tales of flawed people set in the vast underground ruins of a kingdom destroyed long ago for unknown reasons...Hello listener, this is Jordan and Megumi. We are a married couple who like to play Dungeons and Dragons and Savage Worlds. For the uninitiated, these are games where we use game rules and dice to create and tell an improvised story. Each season, Megumi plays a different main character, and Jordan plays the role of the Game Master (the person who presents Megumi's character with the setting, other characters, and the conflict). We want to show you that it's okay to be flawed and hopefully share a good story in the mean time. You can reach out to us at Delagardin01@gmail.com

  • Shahale part II Episode 1: Second Descent
    Jan 13 2021

Thank you for listening to our tales.
Short "Season 1: Shahale" Plot Summary at the bottom.

    Episode Description:
Our protagonists, Shahale and Ko-Dhunad descend from "The Depths", the old mining colony of the Delagardin, and into Dela Esvenada ("The Sleeping City"), and discover what perils lies before them, and they may be even more dangerous than what lied before.

An Excert from Nessie's Journal Vol. III

"The bliss here is wilted and shines a pale yellow. It does keep it just bright enough to not need a torch, but the scene becomes a bit monotonous after a while.
According to the occasional barely legible remnants that I find on occasion, Dela Esvenada used to be one of two cities that lie one atop the other, the other being Don Veo. However, it seemed that this city was built for the "Vess Eddeve", which roughly seems to interpret to "misaligned ones". It seems that most of these people in their daily lives would participate in some kind of trade whether it be excavators, food and linen producers, or smithing and the like.  Perhaps even some of them were sent from the here to "the Depths" to work and mine crystal plant who's long roots cut through and maintain the structural integrity of Dela Esvenada.
Now, the only people that remain are those who are desperate enough, for this ruin hosts its fair share of dubious seeming creatures. They're much more diverse than the fauna I had encountered in the depths. They are by nature, alien seeming with each beast having it's own temperament and varying sets of intelligence. Were I not so good at staying hidden, I would recommend that none find their way to this site that should be forgotten instead. If only it were not for the great time saving advantage, I would favor avoiding this place as well."

Short "Season 1: Shahale" Plot Summary Below:

Shahale and Ko-Dhunad enter the Delagardin (the underground ruin that is the setting of the story) together. They face some monsters and are given a hard time. They meet an older spellcaster  lady named Iona, who after allowing the duo to stay at her place for the evening, succesfully tempts (and slightly tricks) Shahale into giving Iona magical rights over his life in exchange for information on where Shahale's mother is. The two left and continued their journey and when they were in a spot of trouble, they were saved by a trio of people who's group they belonged was named "The Red Fangs". Shahale got seperated from Ko-Dhunad. At the same time, one of the Red Fangs members, Melba got seperated from the rest of her group as well. It was there she found out that these people were also after her mother, and after having an encounter with a monstrosity, Melba was poisoned and unconscious, and Shahale decided she should leave her. When Shahale meets back up with Ko-Dhunad and the rest of Melba's group, Shahale tell them that she had died in combat while they were traveling together. The group and Shahale part ways at the Forges, the last refuge of surface-folk adventurers. While their, they looked for a guide that Iona said would take them where they needed to go, and in a shock decision to Ko-Dhunad, she told him that he shouldn't come with her. It is there that she had unwittingly triggered the conditions that allows Iona to take Ko-Dhunad ,and she appears suddenly and disappears with him. Shahale decides to continue her journey to find her mother with this guide, and starts having nightmares about her betrayel.  The Red Fangs come back for vengeance, kill her guide, and she's poisoned. She meets a master from her order who heals her, a half folk magician who encourages her, and she succesfully faces and outwits Iona and frees Ko-Dhunad as well as the other people Iona had taken from other incautious adventurers. Ko-Dhunad told Shahale he would continue going with her though she must promise never to do what she did again.

Aniji lies in the wide river that cuts through the top portion of the Delagardin. It is a castle built inside a carved out suspended boulder, and has been maintained by one magical family for over a thousand years. Every decade, the headmistress of this academy sends scouts across the world searching for those who show potential in the magical arts.
When the initiates finish their training, they are often sent to locales across the world, to spread the influence of those with wizened minds and tempered attitudes, and to keep peace among the continents to the north. Some of the students remain at the academy and become teachers themselves, or get lost in pursuit of knowing the Delagardin further for some academics believe that knowledge of the bliss is akin to a certain kind of godhood.
