For years, some law enforcement agencies have replaced the faces of traditional playing card decks with images of missing and murdered people and distributed those cards in prisons hoping inmates would come forward with information needed to crack these cold cases wide open. Now, audiochuck is dealing you in. Each week, we will be working with investigators and family members to bring you the details of some of the coldest cases from around the country in hopes that someone listening can finally bring these victims the justice they deserve.audiochuck Crímenes Reales

  • Luther Meshell (9 of Hearts, Louisiana)
    Jun 25 2025

Our card this week is Luther Meshell, the 9 of Hearts from Louisiana.

On a mild spring night in 1991, Luther’s teenage son found him lying dead on his bedroom floor next to his overturned wheelchair and a knife. With a locked door and no signs of forced entry, police believe his killer could have been someone he knew and trusted… but when they zoom out, investigators notice a series of other crimes with eerie similarities… and they begin to consider whether a serial killer could be to blame.

    • Anyone with information on who is responsible for the death of Luther Meshell is urged to contact the Shreveport Police Department by calling 318-673-7300 and asking for someone in investigations or by emailing the Assistant Chief of Police in the Investigations Division at Steve.Pfender@shreveportla.gov.

  • Carmen “CJ” DeLuca (Wild Card, Connecticut)
    Jun 18 2025

Our card this week is Carmen "CJ" DeLuca, the Wild Card from Connecticut.

When a man stopped to get gas in the middle of the night in 1985, he had no idea he was walking into the scene of a murder. The 23-year-old gas station attendant, Carmen “CJ” DeLuca, had been shot to death for seemingly no reason. But with no witnesses and no clear motive, police had no idea who killed him. He was a good guy with no known enemies, engaged to the love of his life, and planning a wedding that would never happen. It wasn’t until another customer walked into another gas station to get his morning coffee…and found another attendant shot that investigators were able to hone in on some suspects. Because their second victim was alive, he got a clear look at the man who shot him. But 40 years later, investigators haven’t been able to identify the shooter. They think they’re close, but time is running out as evidence, suspects, and memories are lost to time. They need someone to come forward and confirm their suspicions to get justice for CJ, his fiancé, and the life they never got to have together.

    • If you have any information on the death of Carmen “CJ” DeLuca, please contact the Connecticut Cold Case Unit at 1-866-623-8058 or email cold.case@ct.gov.

Our cards this week are Michael Adams, Lachelle Powell, Michael Royal, and Jennifer Leasure, the 9, 10, Jack, and Queen of Hearts from New York.

Four bodies, bound, shot, and left in a scene so brutal it stunned even experienced detectives. Loving this so far. Honestly anything involving Ashley or Brit I’m on board! And can’t wait to see if anything gets to help solves these cold cases from listeners !

So happy

I personally love all of their content, excited to see where this podcast takes us! big fan of bringing awareness to cold cases / missing people and at the very least letting their families know their loved ones have not just been lost in a stack of cases.
Stay safe!!

I love Ashley Flowers and I listen to all of her podcasts. This one is especially important to me.

Fantastic

I have high expectations of Ashley because I believe she is a trailblazer. Her stories, narration, and research are excellent. She tends to have trivial things that really ruin the podcast (not just this one. It's part of the trademark, I suppose! 😂)
The ads and their placement really ticks me off, especially because we don't have the option to subscribe and pay for ad-free content. Also, the intro at the beginning of each episode is unnecessary, and half a minute of theme music is just obnoxiously unnecessary! It's not even good music! Of the hundreds of podcasts I've listened to, only ONE had a stunning intro/theme song. It's the Culpable podcast, and the theme song is by the Dirt Poor Robins. You can find it on YouTube. If yours is not of that caliber, half a minute is far, far too long.

Good, but Could be Better

I just finished both episodes and found them to be riveting. You find you want to do as much as you can to help these families

Great podcast

Ashley I can't thank you enough for covering Su's murder. I grew up in Saugus so I remember this vividly and I also happen to know Marlene personally. every single thing the detective said about her is 100% the truth. Marlene is one of the nicest sweetest strongest women I have ever met in my life. I hope that this gets off someday because Marlene really does deserve answers as well as Su deserves Justice.

I stumbled across "The Deck" after I hade binged every episode of "Crime Junkie" and was in desperate need of my true crime fix. This has it all! The narrater keeps your attention and has a way of telling these extreamly intimate grusome events while being completly respectful of the victums memory and surviving family and friends privacy/feelings. Someone needs to tell these stories and she has been anointed to be that person.

Extraordinary
