  • RFK Jr. & Dr. Oz Move to Dismiss CBD Medicare Lawsuit | TDR Cannabis in 5
    Apr 14 2026
In the latest TDR Cannabis in Five presented by Flowhub, Shadd Dales breaks down an important update on the lawsuit tied to the Medicare pilot program for hemp-derived cannabinoid products. This is a story we’ve been following — and now the federal government has officially responded.Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Mehmet Oz are asking the court to dismiss the lawsuit brought forward by Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM). Their argument is simple — the groups behind the case aren’t directly affected by the program, which means they may not have the legal standing needed to move forward. If the court agrees, the case could be shut down early. But the bigger picture here is what this program represents. The proposed Medicare pilot would allow eligible patients to access hemp-derived cannabinoid products, including CBD and low-dose THC, with potential annual coverage. That’s a meaningful shift — because it brings cannabinoid-based products into a federal healthcare framework. At the same time, there are still questions around regulation, product standards, and how this fits within existing federal policy. So while this is still early — it’s something the industry should be paying attention to.Bottom line — this case could determine how quickly cannabinoid products move into healthcare conversations at the federal level.#CannabisNews #CBD #THC #CannabisPolicy #Healthcare #Medicare #CannabisIndustry #TDR #CannabisStocks #LegalNewsWant to see more Cannabis Reform videos?🎬 • Cannabis Rescheduling Isn’t Delayed It Jus... 🎬 • How Media Gets the Cannabis Youth Conversa... 🎬 • Idaho Lawmakers Fighting to Keep Medical C... 🎬 • Missouri Moves to Ban Hemp THC Products | ... • Texas Hemp Ban Paused as Legal Fight Escalates | TTB Presented by Flowhub
    Apr 13 2026
In this Trade To Black livestream presented by Flowhub, host Shadd Dales and Anthony Varrell sit down with Michael Bronstein, President of the American Trade Association for Cannabis and Hemp, for another round of the Weekly Insider’s Edge — and there’s a lot happening right now.First up — Texas.A judge has officially paused new rules that would have banned smokable hemp products like THCA flower. That’s a significant move, and it makes one thing very clear: this fight is far from over. Expect it to play out state by state for a while. On the federal side, things are getting interesting too.RFK Jr. and Dr. Mehmet Oz are pushing to dismiss a lawsuit trying to block a Medicare pilot program connected to hemp-derived CBD and low-dose THC. That’s not a small thing — it signals that cannabinoids are quietly working their way deeper into the healthcare system, legal battles and all.Plus, news out of Minnesota where retail chain Target just secured 72 new licenses to sell hemp-derived THC drinks across all of its stores in the state, making it the single largest holder of lower-potency hemp edible licenses in the state. And finally, Mike Tyson is expanding Tyson 2.0 with a cannabis consumption lounge opening April 20 at 733 Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn. This isn’t just a retail play — it’s an experience-first model built around brand identity and what today’s cannabis consumer actually wants.Log on and leave your comments!#CannabisNews #Hemp #CannabisPolicy #THCA #CannabisIndustry #MikeTyson #CannabisLounge #CBD #TDR #CannabisStocksWant to see last week's recap?🎬 • Cannabis Rescheduling: Execution Now the S... • Cannabis Rescheduling: Execution Now the Story | TTB Weekly Recap
    Apr 13 2026
A big week for the cannabis industry — and this one touches policy, markets, and a major shift in consumer behavior. In the latest Trade To Black podcast presented by FRE Pouch, host Shadd Dales breaks down what’s really moving the space right now.Out of Washington, the biggest story continues to be execution risk around cannabis rescheduling. With Pam Bondi out and Todd Blanche stepping in as Acting Attorney General, the question is no longer “if” — it’s “when.” Reports suggest Trump wants Blanche to finalize the Schedule III rule immediately, which could accelerate the timeline. But with Lee Zeldin still in the mix for a permanent role, uncertainty remains. At the state level, Florida continues to show why it’s one of the most stable cannabis markets in the U.S. March sales came in strong, pushing Q1 totals higher year-over-year — all without adult-use.Massachusetts is also evolving, with lawmakers proposing major structural changes to improve oversight, expand access, and better compete with the illicit market. And then there’s Canada — where a trend investors shouldn’t ignore is taking shape. Legal cannabis sales are rising, while alcohol sales are declining. On the business side, companies like Tilray (NASDAQ: TLRY / TSX: TLRY) and Grown Rogue (CSE: GRIN / OTCQB: GRUSF) are leaning into product innovation and disciplined execution, while Ascend Wellness (CSE: AAWH.U / OTCQX: AAWH) is focusing on long-term ecosystem growth through social equity programs.Bottom line — this is a maturing industry, and execution is everything.#CannabisNews #CannabisStocks #CannabisIndustry #CannabisPolicy #Rescheduling #SAFEBanking #Tilray #CannabisInvesting #TDR #CannabisMarketWant to see more Cannabis Reform videos?🎬 • How Media Gets the Cannabis Youth Conversa... 🎬 • Idaho Lawmakers Fighting to Keep Medical C... 🎬 • Missouri Moves to Ban Hemp THC Products | ... 🎬 • What’s Really Happening With Cannabis Resc... • Cannabis Rescheduling Isn’t Delayed It Just Feels That Way | TDR Cannabis in 5
    Apr 13 2026
There’s a lot of frustration building around cannabis rescheduling right now — and honestly, it’s understandable. But is it actually delayed? Or does it just feel that way?In this episode of TDR Cannabis in Five, presented by Flowhub, Shadd Dales cuts through the noise and gets straight to what the facts actually show. Because there’s a big difference between a process that’s stalled and a process that’s just… slow by design. Here’s the thing — federal scheduling actions have always been multi-step, bureaucratic, and time consuming. The DOJ and DEA both have roles to play, and that takes time even under the best circumstances. Add in a leadership change at the DOJ with Pam Bondi out and Todd Blanche stepping in as Acting AG, and suddenly everyone starts assuming something went wrong. But Washington chatter is suggesting the documentation is already complete and sitting ready for sign-off. That’s not a stalled process — that’s a process in its final stages.Shadd also addresses the Roger Stone tweet that sent the internet spiraling, the big pharma and big tobacco conspiracy theories floating around, and why the reality is actually more nuanced than the headlines suggest. Spoiler — not everyone in tobacco is even against cannabis reform. British American Tobacco recently increased its stake in Charlotte’s Web. That tells you something. The bottom line? The executive order is signed. The agencies have their instructions. The president wants it done. This is moving — it just doesn’t feel like it because federal processes never do.#CannabisRescheduling #CannabisNews #TDRCannabis #Flowhub #MarijuanaRescheduling #CannabisPolicy #DEA #DOJCannabis #CannabisReform #LegalCannabisWant to see more Cannabis Reform videos?🎬 • How Media Gets the Cannabis Youth Conversa... 🎬 • Idaho Lawmakers Fighting to Keep Medical C... 🎬 • Missouri Moves to Ban Hemp THC Products | ... 🎬 • What’s Really Happening With Cannabis Resc... • SAFER Banking Is Back With Real Momentum | TTB Weekly Recap
    Apr 12 2026
A lot happened in cannabis this week and Shadd Dales breaks it all down in the latest Trade To Black Weekly Recap, presented by FRE Pouch. The biggest story? Who ends up as the next U.S. Attorney General could literally decide whether cannabis rescheduling gets done or stalls out. Todd Blanche is holding it down as Acting AG and by most accounts he’s pragmatic, knows the file, and is seen as a positive for the industry. But if Lee Zeldin steps in permanently, the timeline and scope of reform gets a lot murkier. This one is worth watching closely.SAFER Banking is back — eighth time around — and this time there’s actually reason to believe it has legs. Fourteen Senate cosponsors including Republicans, and with rescheduling momentum building behind it, analysts are saying it could cut dispensary operating costs by up to 10% if it passes.Florida had its best month of 2026 in March, pulling in $176.8 million and closing Q1 at $484 million, up 7% year-over-year. Still medical only. Still growing. Massachusetts is overhauling its regulatory setup as the market hits its stride. And Canada just dropped data showing legal cannabis sales up 6.1% while alcohol slid 1.6% — younger consumers are swapping drinks for cannabis and that trend isn’t slowing down.On the company side, Tilray Brands (NASDAQ: TLRY) launched PORTAL, a high-potency line pushing 95-99% THC. Grown Rogue International (CSE: GRIN | OTC: GRUSF) put up strong 2025 numbers with revenue up 22% and EBITDA up 42%. And Ascend Wellness Holdings (CSE: AAWH | OTC: AAWH) launched ROOTS, a mentorship and training program built to help smaller social equity operators actually compete.#CannabisNews #CannabisInvesting #SAFERBanking #CannabisRescheduling #TDRCannabis #TradeToBlack #FREPouch #CannabisStocks #CannabisPolicy #CannabisIndustryWant to see more Cannabis Reform videos?🎬 • How Media Gets the Cannabis Youth Conversa... 🎬 • Idaho Lawmakers Fighting to Keep Medical C... 🎬 • Missouri Moves to Ban Hemp THC Products | ... 🎬 • What’s Really Happening With Cannabis Resc... • Federally Funded Study Reveals Marijuana Breathalyzer Breakthrough | TDR Cannabis in 5
    Apr 11 2026
A federally funded study may have just changed the cannabis conversation in a big way. In this episode of TDR Cannabis in Five, presented by Flowhub, host Shadd Dales breaks down a potential breakthrough in marijuana breathalyzer technology — and what it could mean for law enforcement, cannabis policy, and the broader industry.Researchers backed by the U.S. Justice Department have developed a portable, low-cost device that can detect THC roadside using a 3D-printed cartridge system. Unlike most cannabis breathalyzers that require lab testing after sample collection, this device is designed to deliver results on the spot — no lab, no delay. The technology works through a color-changing chemical reaction that can detect THC in concentrations as low as 10 nanograms, and can even distinguish between THC, CBD, and other cannabinoids. From a scientific standpoint, it’s real progress. But here’s the catch — detecting THC and proving impairment are two very different things. THC stays in the body longer than alcohol, and even the researchers behind this study acknowledge that presence doesn’t equal impairment. There are still major questions around thresholds, false positives, and enforcement consistency that need to be worked out.Shadd breaks down both the promise and the complications, and explains why solving this problem could ultimately accelerate legalization at the federal level.#CannabisNews #THCBreathalyzer #CannabisLegalization #CannabisPolicy #TDRCannabis #Flowhub #MarijuanaDUI #CannabisIndustry #CannabisScience #LegalCannabisWant to see more Cannabis Reform videos?🎬 • How Media Gets the Cannabis Youth Conversa... 🎬 • Idaho Lawmakers Fighting to Keep Medical C... 🎬 • Missouri Moves to Ban Hemp THC Products | ... 🎬 • What’s Really Happening With Cannabis Resc... • Idaho Lawmakers Fighting to Keep Medical Cannabis Away | TDR Cannabis in 5
    Apr 10 2026
Idaho lawmakers are making a move that has the cannabis industry talking. While nearly every state in the country has already embraced some form of medical cannabis, Idaho legislators are actively asking voters to reject a ballot initiative that would finally bring a regulated medical program to the state. In this episode of TDR Cannabis in Five, presented by Flowhub, host Shadd Dales breaks down exactly what’s happening in Idaho — and why it matters beyond state lines. From the citizen-led initiative that’s already racked up tens of thousands of signatures, to the geographic reality that every single neighboring state already has legal cannabis access, the disconnect between lawmakers and voters is hard to ignore. The proposed initiative isn’t about recreational use. It’s a tightly regulated medical program for patients dealing with cancer, chronic pain, PTSD, and other qualifying conditions. And polling shows Idahoans actually want it.Shadd digs into what this political resistance really signals for investors and the broader industry — and whether lawmakers can hold the line when public opinion is clearly moving in the other direction. If you’re watching cannabis policy and market development, this one’s worth your full attention.#CannabisNews #MedicalCannabis #CannabisPolicy #CannabisIndustry #CannabisReform #LegalizeCannabis #CannabisCommunity #Idaho #IdahoPolitics #CannabisMarket #MedicalMarijuana #PatientAccess #ChronicPainRelief #PTSDRelief #HealthcareAccessWant to see more Cannabis Reform videos?🎬 • Missouri Moves to Ban Hemp THC Products | ... 🎬 • What’s Really Happening With Cannabis Resc... 🎬 • Is Trump Pushing Cannabis Rescheduling to ... 🎬 • White House Signals Cannabis Enforcement S... • Breaking Down The Cannabis Buzz This Week | TTB Presented by Flowhub
    Apr 10 2026
Host Anthony Varrell sits down with Adam Stettner, Founder and CEO of FundCanna, the leading cannabis-focused lender that has approved over $300 million in funding across 40 states for cultivators, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and ancillary businesses. In this episode, we break down the biggest cannabis headlines of the week — starting with the social equity story that operators and investors need to watch. Ascend Wellness Holdings just announced a partnership with NuProject to launch ROOTS (Readying Opportunities for Operational & Trade Sustainability), a six-month business readiness program for small cannabis businesses in Massachusetts and New Jersey. The program provides coaching, financial mentorship, and direct access to Ascend's corporate supply chain — a real model for how MSOs can create pathways for equity operators. Meanwhile, Vireo Growth made waves with a strategic partnership transferring 51% ownership of Vireo Health of New York to Ace Ventures, a minority and women-owned enterprise led by Steven Acevedo. This is expected to become New York's first scaled social equity operator built from a vertically integrated medical cannabis license. We discuss what these moves signal for the future of social equity in cannabis. Then we dive into the WeedMaps Nasdaq delisting. WM Technology announced it will voluntarily delist from Nasdaq effective April 24, 2026, citing thin trading volumes, high compliance costs, and regulatory constraints. After an SEC settlement, delinquency notices, and shares trading below $1, what does this mean for cannabis tech companies navigating public markets? We also explore whether medical marijuana in hospitals could be a turning point. Louisiana's Senate Health and Welfare Committee advanced SB 270, allowing terminally ill patients to use medical cannabis in healthcare facilities — a first-of-its-kind framework that could reshape how we think about patient access at the institutional level. Finally, we cover the Massachusetts cannabis reform bill that dropped this week. Lawmakers reached a deal to dissolve and restructure the Cannabis Control Commission from five members down to three, double the possession limit for adults, raise licensing caps to six per entity, and provide immediate access for social equity participants. It's the biggest regulatory overhaul since the state launched adult-use sales.#CannabisNews #CannabisIndustry #CannabisStocks #SocialEquity #Weedmaps #Nasdaq #MedicalCannabis #CannabisPolicy #TDR #FundCannaWant to stay updated on Cannabis, Small Cap, AI, and Crypto?Subscribe to our Daily Baked newsletter:https://newsletter.thedalesreport.com...Find us on social media and podcast platforms:✅ Facebook: / thedalesreport ✅ Twitter: / thedalesreport ✅ Instagram: / dalesreport ✅ LinkedIn: / the-dales-report Apple Podcasts: https://tinyurl.com/TDRTradetoBlackon...Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/TDRTradeToBlackon...Website: https://thedalesreport.com/For copyright matters, contact:sdales@thedalesreport.comPodcast Disclaimer (Financial Interests)The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of any company, organization, or employer.
