  • Jonathan Seaborn - KUAR/Texas Tech Public Media
    Jan 17 2023

This week, I'm excited to have my long-time friend Jonathan Seaborn on The Dad Complex. I've known Jonathan for over 10 years now, and we've seen each other turn from Jonathan(s) the musician to the part-time dream chasers to finding our dream careers and becoming dads around the same time. We started a Weezer cover band once, but it happened to be about when life started coming at us faster, and we never performed together. Since you'll never know, you can trust me when I say it would have, could have, and was badass.

NOTE: Since the recording of this episode, Jonathan accepted the GM position at KUAR in Little Rock, AR. I'm sad to see such a tremendous person leave Lubbock, but we're proud to see him make some big moves for his career and family!

  • Tom Couture - Texas Tech Federal Credit Union
    Jan 10 2023

Episode 4 features my pal, mortgage loan officer extraordinaire, and all-around wonderful human, Tom Couture. Tom is my first guest who has entered the coveted "grandpa" stage, although you wouldn't know it. We had a great conversation filled with high-key aphorisms and lots of love. I hope you enjoy it.

  • Grant Willingham - Ink Giant
    Jan 2 2023

We're kicking off the new year with Grant Willingham of Ink Giant!

Like Kate and I, Grant and his wife, Ericka, had children at a young age and experienced growing a family while simultaneously finding our career footing. I ad a great time understanding how he tackles different situations as a dad and how he's handled growing a business at the same time. I hope you enjoy the conversation!

P.S. Grant is an incredible artist who takes a holistic approach to curate a brand's visual identity and tells a story in some fashion through his beautiful and super-clean designs. Tadpole recently worked with Grant to create a rad design initially intended for t-shirts, and the experience was killer.

  • Michael Clintsman - Bar PM, Atomic Lounge & Pizza Kitchen, Local Bar & Grill
    Dec 20 2022

This week, my guest is Michael Clintsman, founder and owner of three of my favorite bars in Lubbock and one of the first "Dad friends" I made when I became a father. Michael has a son named Everett, and his wife, Paige, also does a lot of work with their businesses. Michael's a great guy with a ton of good insight into being a dad and working hard to grow businesses. As a serial entrepreneur working in college bars can be tricky. He manages it all with finesse while slinging some of my all-time favorite food and drinks. Enjoy the episode!

  • Gabriel Reyes - Victory Homes
    Dec 13 2022

My guest for this episode is Gabriel Reyes of Victory Homes. Gabriel has 4 kids - 3 girls and 1 boy- from 5 to 13 years old. Gabriel is an Army Veteran and was raised very similarly to me. We've been friends for a couple of years at this point, and I've been able to look up to him as a father, business owner, and as a genuine character.

Throughout the episode, we discuss raising our children, having strong women by our sides, and what our homes were like growing up. It was a great conversation, and I'm glad I was able to have him on.
