I gotta revisit the book sometime. I read it shortly after it came out, at the height of its hype. I do remember enjoying at the time, but for me but Dan Brown gets poorer with age. I thought Angels and Demons was brilliant and theDa Vinci Code was entertaining, but I found The Lost Symbol predictable and dull, didn’t bother to finish Inferno, and skipped Origin entirely.

The tropes get old after a while: The leading women are carbon copies of each other; the villains are always gigantic and imposing. And who would’ve thought so many symbology-oriented conspiracies with apocalyptic implications were out there?

The movie should’ve worked. It had a Blockbuster budget, famous actors, a well known director, but I remember it being overly long and dull.
