  • 103. The Ultimate Priority: Acquire As Many Of The Best People As You Can
    Dec 18 2025
On today's episode of The Cutting Onions Podcast, Myles and I tackle a quote from leadership author and expert Jim Collins. His quote, "If I were running a company today, I would have one priority above all others: to acquire as many of the best people as I could."
Naturally, that resonates with us big time, and we discuss the importance of acquiring the best people. We also explore what it looks like when we don't have those people on our team.
In this conversation, we take a stab at defining what “best people” means, contrast the people priorities with strategy/systems, outline retention essentials, and offer actionable steps for leaders to get this ultimate priority right.
We believe you will find this episode helpful, challenging, and hopefully thought-provoking.
Enjoy The Cutting Onions Podcast wherever you consume your podcast content!
