  • 1880 Drifters: Ranching In Harsh Country, Why They Do It, and Gear Built for the Saddle
    Mar 30 2026

In this episode of The Cutter Cast, we sit down with Sean Jack and his sons Trason and Terron—the family behind the YouTube channel 1880 Drifters—to talk about ranching life in the harsh, unforgiving but beautiful country of southeastern Utah.

They share why they started the 1880 Drifters channel, what motivates them to document ranch life every week, and what it takes to keep a cattle operation running when the environment doesn’t cut you any slack. We talk grit, family, hard lessons, and the kind of work most people only hear about.

We also get their honest thoughts as Canvas Cutter ambassadors, especially on the Brumby Cantle Bag, and hear their first impressions of our new Stockman Saddle Bags—what they like, what stands out, and why rugged gear matters when you’re living in the saddle.

If you love real western lifestyle stories and respect the people who live them, this episode is for you.--------------------------------------------------------------If you want spam-free notifications, updates, information and deals on Canvas Cutter products and content sign up for our Email and SMS by clicking the link: https://canvascutter.com/pages/cutter-crew#signupCheck us out at:Website: https://canvascutter.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/canvascutter/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/canvascutter/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@canvascutter

    Mar 28 2026

The bottom of the ocean is a dark place… and apparently that’s where our buffalo plaid foam covers might be.

In Field Notes #9 of The Cutter Cast, Seth and Taylor read a couple awesome customer reviews—one from 26 miles into the Bob Marshall Wilderness with a Dominator Bedroll, and another from a customer who rolled out a Dominator + Bunker combo for a great night’s sleep while staying with family.

A potential ocean delay on the buffalo plaid foam covers

  • Don’t Replace It—Repair It: Father Wisdom’s Repair Shop
    Mar 23 2026

Good gear should last—and when it needs a little help, we’re not going to tell you to throw it away.

In this episode of The Cutter Cast, Seth sits down with Father Wisdom to introduce Father Wisdom’s Repair Shop—Canvas Cutter’s new repair service designed to keep your gear in the field and out of the trash.

We walk through exactly how it works: if you need a repair, you can fill out a simple form on our website under the “Father Wisdom’s Repair Shop” landing page, upload a couple photos of what needs attention, and Father Wisdom will personally assess the request. If it’s something we can fix, you’ll be able to send your gear in and have it repaired by Father Wisdom himself.

We also share a few examples of the kinds of repairs we’ve seen and why we believe repairing rugged gear is part of the Canvas Cutter mindset—buy once, use it hard, and keep it going.

Have a repair question or a story about what your Canvas Cutter gear has survived? Drop it in the comments—we’d love to hear it.

  • Field Notes #8: Opinions On Dirtbags
    Mar 21 2026

We’ve got opinions on Dirtbags… and we’re not keeping them to ourselves.

In Field Notes #8 of The Cutter Cast, Seth and Taylor read a couple of awesome customer reviews of the Dirtbag Bean Bag—including one that’s been abused by a 7-year-old and two dogs like it’s a daily trampoline (and somehow still looks brand new). We also talk about why Dirtbags make such a good camp “chair,” why kids always steal them, and how they shine even when the ground is rocky or uneven.

Then we dive into listener feedback from last week’s discussion on Canvas Cutter’s potential promo product lineup (blankets, poncho/floor mat combos, coozies, toiletry bags, shooting mats, tool rolls—and more). We also highlight something we love seeing: customers jumping into the comments and defending gear, ideas, and each other.

On the update front, we’ve got some shocking product news—including where things stand on the Stockman Saddle Bags (targeting end of June), plus upcoming improvements to the R.E.M. Pillow. We also share content updates (including a new trip video with the 1880 Drifters dropping Wednesday), winter camp vlog reminders, hiring momentum for a full-time editor, and what’s coming up next with trips—including the Spring Fever trip.

If you’re enjoying the Cutter Cast, please follow/subscribe on your favorite platform, leave a review, and drop your thoughts in the comments—we’re building this with you.--------------------------------------------------------------If you want spam-free notifications, updates, information and deals on Canvas Cutter products and content sign up for our Email and SMS by clicking the link: https://canvascutter.com/pages/cutter-crew#signupCheck us out at:Website: https://canvascutter.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/canvascutter/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/canvascutter/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@canvascutter

  • Field Notes #7: Mules and Public Education
    Mar 14 2026

It’s time for Mule Duffels… and a little public education.

In Field Notes #7 of The Cutter Cast, Seth and Taylor read and react to customer reviews of the Mule Duffel Bag—including a negative review that sparks a special guest appearance from local professors Professor Larsen and Professor Dalton (yes… wigs and glasses included) to educate the public, answer questions, and clear up the confusion.

We also tackle a common question we hear often: “Where do you put your gear while using a bedroll sleep system?” Then we run through a quick list of potential Canvas Cutter promotional products, share updates on upcoming content, and close it out with a quote that’s as true as the sky is blue.

Got a question for the next Field Notes? Drop it in the comments or DM us—we might feature it.
