    Dec 24 2025

because we're always changing & evolving!

Why Are CREATIVE People Often Rejected By Their Own Families? | The Creative Zindagi Podcast | Episode 70

In one of his speeches, Osho had this really insightful way of putting it: we're always changing, evolving.

By the time we've finally stepped into who we really are - maybe as an artist, a writer, a deep thinker - those who've known us forever, especially from childhood, still see that old version of us. They're stuck looking at the kid we used to be. They just can't wrap their heads around the fact that we've transformed. It's hard for them to believe it, let alone celebrate it. But strangers? They meet you fresh. No history, no baggage. They see exactly who you've become right now, in this moment. That's why they can genuinely admire you, support you, and cheer you on without any hesitation.

He gave this beautiful example with Gautam Buddha. When Buddha returned home after his enlightenment, his father begged him to come back to the palace, to give up this spiritual path and just be his son again, the prince he'd raised.

Buddha looked at him and said something like, "Even if I wanted to, I couldn't. That person you’re talking to... he doesn't exist anymore. The young man who left the palace is gone forever."

His father could only see his little boy. But everyone else? They saw this radiant, awakened being "a Buddha".

It's kind of bittersweet; the people closest to us are often the last to recognize our growth. They cling to who we were yesterday, while strangers get to meet the person we're finally becoming today.

| The Pain of Leaving Home | Is Migration the New Displacement?
    Oct 26 2025
