In this episode, Erica Atwood and Scott Charles, Trauma Outreach Manager, Temple University Hospital, discuss the ongoing issue of gun violence in the United States and specifically in Philadelphia, highlighting the need for hospital-based interventions and gun safety measures, while also addressing the mental and emotional toll of working with victims and perpetrators of gun violence. They share their own experiences dealing with stress and the challenge of knowing whether their work is making a difference and discuss creative ways to engage with youth about violence prevention, and the importance of bringing a breadth of knowledge and experience from all walks of life to this work.
