  • 116. The Murders of Dr. and Mrs. Littlefield – Part 2
    Dec 24 2025

In Part 2 of our analysis of The Murders of Dr. and Mrs. Littlefield in South Paris, Maine, we turn to Paul Dwyer’s final confession in which he directly implicated Deputy Sheriff Francis Carroll in the murders. This statement dramatically reframes the case and forces a re-evaluation of Dwyer’s role in these crimes. Part 2 of 2.

  • 115. The Murders of Dr. and Mrs. Littlefield – Part 1
    Dec 17 2025

In part 1 of our analysis of The Murders of Dr. and Mrs. Littlefield, we examine the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Dr. James Littlefield and his wife, Lydia, in 1937. Their bodies were discovered in their car in North Arlington, New Jersey, far from their home in South Paris, Maine, with 18-year-old Paul Dwyer at the wheel. The discovery launched an investigation that raised questions which persist to this day. Subsequent proceedings introduced competing explanations for the murders. One theory holds that Dwyer acted alone. Another contends that Deputy Sheriff Francis Carroll was the primary offender, with Dwyer forced to assist in covering up the crime. We try to answer what most likely happened. Part 1 of 2.

  • 114. The Missing and Murdered in Grand Rapids – Part 3
    Dec 10 2025

In our third and final part on the missing and murdered women of Grand Rapids, Investigative Reporter Susan Samples from WOOD TV8 joins us again as we take a closer look at long-haul trucker Garry Artman. Artman was convicted of one of the Grand Rapids murders—the 1996 murder of Sharon Hammack—and linked by DNA to the killing of Dusty Schuck, who was from Maryland.

I have followed this series from the beginning. Hearing from real FBI agents on real cases, some even unsolved, is riveting! I highly recommend starting with Profiling Concepts so you get a feel for how to look at the cases. Also, don’t miss the Mark Twitchell SK Confessions one. The reading of the killer’s diary is captivating. Really a nice add to the series. Can’t wait for the next one.

Hearing from several FBI profilers on real cases is very interesting. Highly recommend!

It is an amazing behind the scenes process of how cases are analyzed. Small details matter and the analysis makes you think of true crime in a whole new way! My absolute favorite podcast!

Gripping insight

To get inside a crime from the profilers that worked the case before it was solved. I'm so glad that the prosecutors introduced me to your podcast.
