GUEST: Dr. Joel Beeke, Pastor and Author, How to Lead Your Family

From the very beginning, God established husbands and fathers to be leaders in their homes. This is to be a self-sacrificing and love-filled leadership, just as Christ loved and sacrificed for His bride, the church, the body of believers.

As we approach Father’s Day, what more important message can a husband and father hear than to fully embrace his call to lead his family for God’s glory? This doesn’t just mean rearing his children but shepherding his wife as well.

Joel Beeke, former president and now chancellor of Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary and longtime pastor of Heritage Reformed Congregation in Grand Rapids, Michigan, joins us this weekend to discuss his helpful new book, How to Lead Your Family: A Guide for Men Wanting to Be More.

The notable framework that Dr. Beeke sets forth in the book is that Christian husbands and fathers share in a limited way Christ’s three offices of prophet, priest, and king. Joel will explain how this should play out in the home, as the husband and father loves and leads his wife and children.

GUEST: SOEREN KERN, geopolitical analyst

President Trump just returned from his first overseas trip of his second term. Where a president chooses to visit first is a signal of his priorities. That President Trump went to the Middle East and three Arab/Muslim countries—Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and United Arab Emirates (UAE)—speaks loudly about Trump’s hope to bring peace and prosperity to the Middle East. Interestingly, Trump did not visit Israel, even though he was in the region.

Trillions of dollars in investments by Arab countries to American businesses were negotiated. Trump met with sketchy leaders like Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who oddly gifted the U.S. a Boeing 747. Trump gave a major policy speech outlining his vision for the Middle East, which would have Saudi Arabia signing the Abraham Accords, a treaty normalizing relations between Arab nations and Israel. Meanwhile, Islamist Iran looms in the region, trying desperately to develop nuclear weapons.

How to interpret all that took place? Christian geopolitical analyst Soeren Kern will join us this weekend on The Christian Worldview Radio Program to survey the many facets of President Trump’s trip and how it will impact America and our longtime ally Israel. Soeren will also discuss the upcoming U.N. Palestine Summit June 17-20 in New York, which aims to “Take Irreversible Action Towards Implementing a Two-State Solution.” These are some of the subjects Soeren will be addressing in more detail in the June 2025 issue of The Christian Worldview Journal monthly print publication that is sent to all Christian Worldview Partners.

Is God close to enacting His end times plan of snatching away His church and allowing the antichrist to deceive the nations and persecute Israel before Christ’s return? We don’t know God’s timing but we’d better be alert and ready.

GUEST: Mike Gendron, founder and director, Proclaiming the Gospel

President Trump is on historic multi-nation visit to the Middle East, where he is attempting to broker financial investments in U.S. companies and generally lower the hostile temperature of Arab nations toward one another and Israel. Geopolitical analyst Soeren Kern will join us next week to interpret all that took place and what it means for the U.S. and Israel.

This week, Mike Gendron, founder and director of Proclaiming the Gospel, a ministry devoted to helping Roman Catholics understand and believe the biblical gospel, joins us to discuss the selection of a new pope, Leo XIV. Mike, a Roman Catholic for the first 35 years of his life, will tell us about the new pope, the first American-born leader of the Catholic Church, and explain core Catholic doctrines—like Peter being the first pope—and how these contrast with God’s Word.

But before we get to the new pope and the Roman Catholic Church, Mike and I will discuss the disheartening news this week that Josh Buice, founder and president of G3 Ministries, a ministry focused on building the church up in sound doctrine, has resigned due to the uncovering of anonymous social media accounts that he was using to slander other Christians and ministries and then lying about it.

Paul told Timothy to “Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in these things, for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you” (1 Timothy 4:16). This is a sobering reminder that we must not only examine our teaching but our hearts.

GUEST: Mary Jane Wheaton, David’s Mom

The great preacher Charles Spurgeon said, “Never could it be possible for any man to estimate what He owes to a godly mother.”

I heartily concur with that sentiment, as God blessed my Dad with a godly wife and my siblings and I with a godly mother. All of us have been presently and eternally impacted by our mother, Mary Jane Wheaton, who was brought to saving faith in Christ in her 20s, and by God’s grace, has followed Him to today at age 91.

It has been an annual tradition on The Christian Worldview to interview my Mom and Dad in May and June over Mother’s Day and Father’s Day weekends. It’s always enriching to hear their perspective on matters of life and faith, as they both were Christ-followers and married for nearly 70 years. The Lord brought my Dad home to heaven in 2023 at the same age my mom is today.

My mom will be our guest this weekend on this Mother’s Day special program. She will recount how God saved her, who has influenced her, how society has changed its view of women, what a wife should pursue, and much more.

God’s Word describes in Proverbs 31 the character of an “excellent wife” and mother, which says in part:

“Strength and dignity are her clothing,
And she smiles at the future.

She opens her mouth in wisdom,
And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

She looks well to the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children rise up and bless her;
Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:

“Many daughters have done nobly,
But you excel them all.”

Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain,
But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.”

May women listening today be encouraged to pursue God’s design for a woman, wife, and mother. And may young men be looking for this kind of woman to marry and may married men be cultivating this character in their wives.

There have always been subversive people within the church and there always will be. One aspect of great neglect for far too many pastors today is not warning their churches about them. Whether the pastor doesn’t have the discernment to see error or whether he’s unwilling to be “negative,” the result is the same—Christians led astray “by smooth and flattering speech” (Romans 16:18).

In the week leading up to Easter, Christianity Today, led by editor-in-chief Russell Moore, published an article with the headline “Was Jesus Crucified with Nails?” The Bible is abundantly clear that He was (cf. John 20:25) so why let this article see the light of day?

David Mitzenmacher, associate pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Cape Coral, FL and chairman of Founders Ministries joins us this weekend to discuss subversive influencers within the professing church, specifically with the example of Russell Moore.

The highest calling for Christians is to pursue holiness.

Scripture says this definitively, “As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:14-16).

What hinders the pursuit of holiness, defined as Christ-likeness, is the opposite—worldliness. Worldliness is defined in Scripture as the sinful lusts and pride which the world around us relentlessly promotes:

“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world” (1 John 2:16).

Not surprisingly, the fallen world ruled by Satan presents endless ways to draw us off the path of holiness and down the dead end of worldliness. And most problematic, there’s something inside us that is drawn to what the sinful world offers. It’s enjoyable. It causes us to laugh. It makes us feel “in.” It boosts our view of self. And it’s really not going to affect me, right?

Scott Aniol, Executive Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of G3 Ministries and Professor of Pastoral Theology at Grace Bible Theological Seminary, joins us this weekend on The Christian Worldview to discuss worldliness and how to identify and overcome it.

Early released program for Easter Weekend (April 19, 2025)

The prophets foretold Him. The gospels reveal Him. The epistles explain Him. All of Scripture exalts Him.

“Him” being Jesus Christ, the God-man who lived among us, was crucified by those He created, miraculously rose from the grave, and then ascended alive into heaven.

This is way beyond the “greatest story ever told”. Rather, Jesus Christ is the greatest One who ever lived. His crucifixion, burial, resurrection is the greatest, most significant event in human history.

Scripture also says, “For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time” (1 Timothy 2:5).

This Easter weekend, we’re going to talk about “the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all”. We’ll examine the most detailed Old Testament prophecy about Him in Isaiah 53 and see how it was precisely fulfilled. We’ll also hear some of the most profound hymns about Christ’s sacrificial death for man.

We hope your Easter is made more meaningful as you listen to this special edition of The Christian Worldview.
