  • Sleepless Nights & Sticky Floors
    Jun 3 2025

Welcome back to The Byrds’ Nest!

This episode is for every parent or caregiver who’s found themselves barefoot at 3AM stepping on a toy, cleaning up a mess, or trying to calm a crying child while running on fumes. If your house feels loud, sticky, and full of chaos… you’re not alone—and this one’s for you.

We’re getting honest about what it really means to parent in the trenches—those raw, messy, exhausting moments that don’t make the highlight reel but shape us the most.

We don’t always get it right—and that’s okay.

    Give yourself grace over guilt.

    Ask for help.

    Rest when you can.

And never believe that the way things are today is how they’ll always be.

    Let’s keep the conversation going

  • Micah’s World
    May 28 2025

Welcome back to The Byrds’ Nest! In this heartfelt episode, we invite you into a very special part of our lives: Micah’s world.

Micah is our 7-year-old son—brilliant, energetic, curious, and beautifully unique. He also happens to be on the autism spectrum. In this episode, we’re sharing our journey as parents: from the early days of learning and uncertainty, to the joy of discovering how Micah sees and engages with the world around him.

We reflect on what it was like stepping into parenting from different paths, the challenges that stretched us, and the beautiful lessons we’ve learned by slowing down, listening, and meeting our son where he is. We talk competition, communication, meltdowns, milestones—and the kind of love that reshapes everything you thought you knew about parenting.

Along the way, we were blessed with support that made all the difference.

Huge thanks to @the_reading_playground, a gifted tutor and teacher who was instrumental in those early stages of Micah’s development. Her patience, insight, and love for children helped build his foundation, and we’ll always be grateful.

And to @morethanadadnetwork—a podcast that showed up in our lives right when we needed it. Those early episodes gave AJ perspective, encouragement, and a sense of community in fatherhood. If you’re a dad looking for real talk and support, this is one to lock in.

This episode is raw, reflective, and deeply personal. It’s not just about autism—it’s about embracing your child fully, advocating for their needs, and growing into the parent they uniquely require.

Thank you for being here and for stepping into this part of our nest with us. Whether you’re raising a neurodiverse child, navigating blended family dynamics, or just trying to figure out how to love and lead with more patience—this one’s for you.

  • From Solo Flights to Byrds’ Nest
    May 15 2025

Welcome to the very first episode of The Byrds’ Nest! In this opener, we take you back to life before there was a “we.”

We share who we were before the nest—our solo journeys, our mindsets, and the personal growth it took to prepare for something real. From the lessons we learned in singleness, to the shift that happened once we found each other, this episode is all about that transition: from two individuals with their own stories to one united front ready to build something lasting.

You’ll hear honest reflections about love, timing, healing, and how we slowly built a foundation that felt safe, genuine, and full of purpose. This episode sets the tone for the rest of the podcast: unfiltered, full of heart, and rooted in the real-life experiences that shape modern relationships.

We’re so glad you’re here and taking a deeper look inside the nest. Everything we share comes from a place of love, vulnerability, and a desire to connect with those doing their best to build strong, loving homes—whatever that may look like.
