The Queen’s Gambit follows the story of a young chess prodigy, Beth Harmon, as she rises to the top of the male-dominated competitive Chess world, while struggling with her broken childhood, emotional problems, drug abuse, and alcohol dependency. So often we see stars, geniuses, and saints by their accomplishments yet we often fail to recognize the hidden struggles they go through.
