  • You're not doing that right... Post a video of yourself shooting your bow. I dare ya.

We've all seen it. Someone posts a video of them shooting their bow and the critiques (unsolicited) come flying in like mosquitos on opening weekend (definitely unsolicited). But lets say for a second that you have some questions about how you shoot your bow. You think that maybe you could make some changes and gain some better groups. Maybe even be able to shoot more often without having some kind of strange tinge in your elbow. Maybe you've been caught in the never ending onslaught of archery videos and you're thinking man I'm just doing everything wrong. Why do I even shoot a bow in the first place. Well today's episode is for that... ALL of THAT. Christian Williams from Archery Strong joins the guys on this episode to talk through some of the common woes that we've all faced in archery. He shares his experience from working with hundreds of archers with the word of encouragement of just keep shooting. Keep having fun. Keep getting out there and trying to beat yesterday. We hope you enjoy the podcast. Be sure to like the episode wherever you listen as that does help us out tremendously.

  • Ep. 35 - Childlike Faith Could Be The Answer
    Jun 5 2025

    Send a text

What happens when childlike faith breaks through the noise of our complicated adult lives? In this episode we don't look at gear or tactics or brands or any of that. This is a heartfelt conversation where we talk about the real things in life. We witness the power of simplicity as Jase shares how his toddler's prayer about Jesus dying on the cross brought him to tears. It's these unexpected moments that reassure us—maybe we're not failing at this parenting thing after all.

The contrast between massive VBS programs hosting 500+ children and tiny country churches with just nine kids reveals a powerful truth: size doesn't matter when it comes to spiritual impact. Both are doing exactly the same work of introducing children to Jesus, some of whom may have never heard His name before. In a culture where biblical literacy is rapidly declining (as evidenced by a young man who didn't recognize the name "Moses"), these programs serve as crucial touch-points for faith formation.

Our conversation takes unexpected turns through the countryside, examining how farming challenges and skyrocketing land values are changing rural communities. With agricultural land now selling for as much as $40,000 per acre in our area, farmers face impossible choices between continuing their generational legacy or cashing out. These economic realities are reshaping landscapes and wildlife habitats forever.

At the heart of our discussion lies a simple but profound acronym: J.O.Y. (Jesus Or Yourself). In a world designed to steal our contentment through fear-based news and endless drama, choosing Jesus over ourselves remains our daily battle. We reflect on how social media, political division, and constant busyness crowd out the presence of God, while admiring how figures like Phil Robertson maintained simplicity of faith despite widespread fame.

What if the solution to our complicated lives isn't more complexity but less? What if knowing Jesus intimately is enough? Join us as we explore how breaking faith down to its essentials—loving God and loving people—might be exactly what our distracted souls need most. After all "You'll never drift closer to God... the path of least resistance seldom gets you to a good place."

  • Ep. 34 - The String Revolution: Materials Science Meets Archery
    May 30 2025

    Send a text

What makes a premium bowstring truly premium? In this deep dive with Mark Pederson, founder of Bloodline Fiber, we uncover the fascinating technology and engineering principles behind today's most advanced bowstring materials.

Mark's journey from missionary kid in Venezuela to fiber engineering specialist provides the perfect backdrop for understanding how Bloodline came to be. Drawing inspiration from his grandfather's archery prowess and his grandmother's favorite hymn "Power in the Blood," Mark combined his family heritage with his professional expertise in high-performance rope design to create something revolutionary in the archery world.

We explore the science behind Bloodline's proprietary fiber coatings that protect against abrasion, UV damage, moisture, and temperature fluctuations without requiring any maintenance. This zero-maintenance approach solves one of archery's biggest challenges - bowstring care and longevity. Traditional strings demand regular waxing and attention, while Bloodline materials simply perform, shot after shot.

The conversation takes us through the technical aspects of string building, examining why Revelation 99 (Rev99) has become our go-to material for compound bow strings due to its exceptional stability. Unlike other materials that require different strand counts based on color, Bloodline maintains consistent diameter across all colors, allowing for predictable, repeatable building results.

Perhaps most illuminating is our discussion of serving technology, where Mark explains how their BOA serving creates a "constricting grip" around strings, preventing the dreaded serving separation even after thousands of shots. This attention to detail extends to their newer innovations like Fast Brass speed nocks, designed with both performance and builder ergonomics in mind.

Whether you're a competitive archer seeking performance advantages, a bowhunter looking for reliability, or simply fascinated by materials science, this conversation reveals how faith, family heritage, and engineering excellence combine to elevate the archery experience through better string technology.
