    Aug 12 2025

305 – Do your prayers need to be more persistent?

Have you ever been praying about something and just didn’t seem to be getting any answers?

You poured your heart and soul into praying and studying the Bible, but after a while, you just couldn’t see any progress or evidence of your prayers having any effect at all.

Maybe some of your friends even told you it was ridiculous to pray for whatever it was you were praying about. And so you gave up.

Maybe you tried to convince yourself it just wasn’t God’s will for the thing you were praying about to happen. And frankly, sometimes that may be the case.

But sometimes we give up a little too soon in our prayers. Because we haven’t gotten an answer, or the answer we want, we quit asking God to heal us or for the solution to our problem.

If you’ve even found yourself with those kinds of thoughts running through mind, this episode is for you.

We’re going to look at several people in the Bible of people who were persistent and didn’t give up in searching for an answer, a solution to a problem, or a healing.

    • The woman in Proverbs, Chapter 31
    • The Syrophoenician woman who asked Jesus to heal her daughter
    • The woman in Jesus's parable who kept asking a judge for help
    • Blind Bartimaeus
    • We'll talk about how and why you can be persistent like they were

Paul says: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9 NIV

  • 304 Satan Has No Power over You
    Aug 5 2025

304 – Have you ever felt like the devil was trying to control you?

A preacher on social media recently warned all his listeners about how powerful the devil is and how careful you have to be not to fall into all the temptations that come to you.

It seemed to me he actually was trying to scare his audience so they would listen to him and do what he said.

I agree, it's important not to give in to temptations, but the question for today is: Does the devil have power over you?

In this week’s episode I’m going to take the opposite stand from this preacher:

    • The devil has absolutely no power, no power over you, no power over me
    • The devil has no real power at all (only perceived power)
    • How Jesus's definition of the devil proves he is powerless to harm you
    • Why most people believe the devil has power (when he really doesn't)
    • How not to be deceived by the devil's lies and prove for yourself he has no real power

  • 303 – What Does it Mean to Be a Christian?
    Jul 29 2025

303 – Who decides what it means to be a Christian?

Have you ever been told by someone you’re not a Christian because you didn’t agree 100% with them on every tiny detail of theology? It’s not a great feeling.

Some churches have a pretty wide and inclusive definition what it means to be a Christian, including people from many different denominations.

Some churches believe they are the only ones with the truth but that God will be merciful to others.

But there are a few churches who believe only their members are true Christians and everyone else is condemned to hell.

Most of these groups make a fatal flaw in how they define what it means to be a Christian.

    In this episode:

    • I expose this mistake
    • Talk about why no one else has the authority to decide if you are a true Christian
    • And share what Jesus actually says it means to be one of his true followers or disciples.

Christians need to stop debating what it means to be a Christian and focus more on following Jesus and practicing what he taught us.
