In The Artful Dodger, Jack Dawkins (the Artful Dodger from Dickens’ Oliver Twist) is now a doctor, wooing the governor’s daughter, solving medical mysteries, and pulling off heists with his old criminal mentor and bad influence, Fagin (David Thewlis).
