Hey everyone, welcome to The Apple Head Podcast.
If you’re listening to this, you’re officially part of the very first episode of the show.
This podcast is all about Apple — new products, real-world experiences, and simple breakdowns of the tech that people actually use every day. From iPhones and iPads to Macs and everything in between, we’ll be exploring what makes Apple devices interesting… and whether they’re actually worth your money.
And since this is the first episode, I thought it would be perfect to start with a brand-new device from Apple — the iPhone 17e.
So let’s dive in.
The iPhone 17e was just introduced as the most affordable model in the iPhone 17 lineup, but don’t let that label fool you. Apple packed this phone with a surprising number of flagship-level features.
Starting with the design, the iPhone 17e uses a durable aluminum frame combined with Apple’s new Ceramic Shield 2 glass on the front. According to Apple, this new generation of Ceramic Shield offers up to three times better scratch resistance compared to the previous model.
That means better protection against everyday drops and scratches — something that’s definitely reassuring for people who don’t always use a case.
The phone also comes in three clean colors: black, white, and a soft new pink. And like most modern iPhones, it carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
Moving to the display, the iPhone 17e features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen with a resolution of 1170 by 2532 pixels. Colors are vibrant thanks to the P3 wide color gamut, and brightness reaches up to 1200 nits when viewing HDR content.
One interesting upgrade this year is a new seven-layer anti-reflective coating. It helps reduce glare when using the phone outdoors, making the display easier to read under bright sunlight.
Now let’s talk performance.
Inside the iPhone 17e is Apple’s new A19 chip. It features a six-core CPU with two performance cores and four efficiency cores, delivering strong performance while maintaining good power efficiency.
There’s also a 16-core Neural Engine that helps power Apple Intelligence features built into iOS 26.
In addition, Apple introduced a new C1X modem in this device, which delivers faster network speeds and improved stability compared to the previous generation.
For storage, the phone now starts at 256GB, which is a big jump compared to older entry-level iPhones. That means plenty of space for photos, videos, apps, and games without constantly worrying about running out of storage.
Battery life is also impressive. Apple says the phone can deliver up to 26 hours of video playback. And when it’s time to recharge, fast charging can reach about 50 percent in around 30 minutes with a 20-watt adapter.
Wireless charging is supported as well, with MagSafe delivering up to 15 watts.
On the camera side, the iPhone 17e features a 48-megapixel Fusion camera. Even though it’s a single-camera system, Apple uses computational photography to provide optical-quality 2x zoom and highly detailed photos.
The lens uses an f/1.6 aperture, which improves low-light performance, and portrait mode allows you to adjust background blur and focus even after the photo has been taken.
Video capabilities are also strong. The phone supports 4K Dolby Vision recording at up to 60 frames per second, along with Cinematic mode for more dramatic depth effects.
So overall, the iPhone 17e is designed to offer a balanced experience — strong performance, a capable camera, solid battery life, and modern Apple features, all in a more affordable package. This also come with two available GB option, the iPhone 17e 256GB and iPhone 17e 512GB
And honestly, it’s a pretty interesting way to kick off the very first episode of The Apple Head Podcast.
