Melerine discusses her road to becoming a BESE board member, which is rather unique; the role BESE plays in Louisiana education policy—which, in some respects, is surprising; and the progress Louisiana students have made in national education rankings.
Melerine is also a practicing attorney and is married to Louisiana State Representative Michael Melerine, who has also been a guest on The App.
