  • DRAWINGS THAT SURVIVE - a Holocaust Film by Jeffery B. Giesener
    Nov 8 2025

DRAWINGS THAT SURVIVE - a Holocaust Film by Jeffery B. Giesener Art that survived the Holocaust, Holocaust Art that is contemporary, paying tribute to #NeverAgain. And with a special presentation by the late Thomas Geves Z'l assisted by his daughter Yifat Cohn-Meir. Thomas wrote The Boy Who Drew Auschwitz. An inspiring true story of hope and survival, this is the testimony of a boy who was imprisoned in Auschwitz, Gross-Rosen, and Buchenwald and recorded his experiences through words and color drawings. In June 1943, after long years of hardship and persecution, thirteen-year-old Thomas Geve and his mother were deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Separated upon arrival, he was left to fend for himself in the men’s camp of Auschwitz I.During 22 harsh months in three camps, Thomas experienced and witnessed the cruel world of Nazi concentration and death camps. Nonetheless, he never gave up the will to live. Miraculously, he survived and was liberated from Buchenwald at the age of fifteen. While still in the camp and too weak to leave, Thomas felt a compelling need to document it all, and drew over eighty drawings, all portrayed in simple yet poignant detail with extraordinary accuracy. He not only shared the infamous scenes, but also the day-to-day events of life in the camps, alongside inmates' manifestations of humanity, support and friendship. To honor his lost friends and the millions of silenced victims of the Holocaust, in the years following the war, Thomas put his story into words. Despite the evil of the camps, his account provides a striking affirmation of life. The Boy Who Drew Auschwitz, accompanied by 56 of his color illustrations, is the unique testimony of young Thomas and his quest for a brighter tomorrow.TRIGGER WARNING: The film contains Holocaust art that may trigger Intergenerational Survivor Trauma or PTSD symptoms. Please be advised and take caution.

  • LET ME TEAR OFF YOUR STAR - A Holocaust Story Of French Resistance -- film by Jeffery B. Giesener
    Nov 8 2025

LET ME TEAR OFF YOUR STAR - A Holocaust Story Of French Resistance -- film by Jeffery B. Giesener The moving story of the Kochavi family during the Holocaust. First, Judith and Israel Kochavie departed from Lithuania for Palestine in the mid-1910s. From there, they moved to Kolmar, France, before the Second World War. Dr. Daniel Kochavi was born in Kolmar, France, in 1938 and survived the war in hiding. The Nazis invaded France, where Daniel's mother, Judith, shortly after, entered the French Resistance. She hid Jewish families in her apartment while also acting as a courier for the Resistance. To protect Daniel, only about age 3, she hid Daniel in a Catholic girls ' boarding school as the administrator's son. Since Daniel's father and mother were living under British passports from their stay in the British Mandate, Palestine, his father was rounded up and detained in a Nazi detention center outside of Paris. And so their amazing Holocaust story goes. You won't want to miss the three stories of the Kochavi family, narrated by Holocaust Survivor Dr. Daniel Kochavi.
