Host: Allan Newsome Running time: 0:33:02 This is Mayberry Days week in Mount Airy, North Carolina. Mount Airy is Andy Griffith’s hometown and this marks the 36th Annual Mayberry Days. Folks often ask what happens at the shows like Col. Tim’s during Mayberry Days so this episode we’ll experience some examples of the things that occur at Col. Tim’s. This is an episode that I would encourage folks to watch the video because the things we’ll be playing are clips from different events and seeing them, I believe, would be better than hearing only. We have Floyd joining Rodney Dillard and the Dillard Band in singing “House of the Rising Floyd,” Elizabeth MacRae who played Lou-Ann Poovie on Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. will sing for us and be joined by Gary Crain (Gomer) for some fun, the first every performance of “Good ol’ 14A” at Col. Tim’s in 1994, and we’ll wrap up with Floyd singing “My Hometown” with Elvis. Big ain’t the word for it!
