Welcome to Daily Faceoff Live with Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton!
Today’s show is all about the Metro Division as we hand out mid-season report cards. Is any team close to contending with the Hurricanes at the top? New Jersey was up there until the Hughes injury but now they’ve fallen down the standings. Washington was on top in the East last year, but has the magic ran out?
Next, we look at the teams who have been surprises in the Metro. The Isles have a solid mix of young talent and veteran experience with Ilya Sorokin and David Rittich manning the crease. Philly just extended Christian Dvorak, but can they continue their hot start? The Penguins are on a five-game heater, but are they the most questionable of the mushy middle in the Metro?
The back of the class has the New York Rangers and Columbus Blue Jackets looking for answers. The Rangers lost Igor Shesterkin last night, can they overcome an injury to their starter and make a second-half push? The Blue Jackets have a .524 point percentage and sit dead last in the Eastern Conference. Can the Blue Jackets take advantage of a smaller seller’s market and grab some pieces for the future?
Jeff Marek from The Sheet joins the show to talk all things World Juniors and give his opinion on the guy's Metro report cards.
