Brad Butterworth was the tactician that brought the America’s Cup to New Zealand.
After Team New Zealand defended the America’s Cup at the turn of the century, Butterworth along with compatriot Sir Russell Coutts, were lambasted by the public and media for turning their backs on Aotearoa when they signed with swiss syndicate Alinghi.
Brad Butterworth has been involved in sailing around the world at many levels.
He is one of New Zealand’s finest sailing exports and joined D’Arcy Waldegrave for Episode Six of The Superior Sailor Series.
