Along with a downtown fireworks display, the 110-foot-tall Mile High Tree will debut a family-friendly digital countdown celebration to usher in the New Year. Denver is proving to be the ideal location for ringing in 2023 with a bang, featuring a wide array of events for people of all ages throughout the city. Even though the Mile High Tree celebrated its fourth anniversary in 2022, this will be the first time ever that it takes part in the countdown to the New Year.
The 110-foot-tall Mile High Tree, which is the tallest digital tree in North America and is centrally located in Civic Center Park, is sponsored by XCEL Energy and Xfinity. It will debut a New Year's countdown program alongside a 9 p.m. fireworks display, the first of two downtown fireworks displays to ring in the new year. The Downtown Denver Partnership and the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District are co-sponsoring the fireworks displays at 9 p.m. and at midnight. The new activity at the tree is ideal for families searching for a kid-friendly rendition of a New Year's Eve ball-drop because it occurs right before the 9 p.m. fireworks spectacular.
There will be other ways to ring in the new year besides fireworks. Through the end of the year, Denver's most cherished holiday customs will be in full swing across the city, including breathtaking light displays, New Year's parties, festive events, museum exhibitions, live music, and more. The New Year's Eve Fireworks will once again make the sky over downtown sparkle at the end of 2022. At nine o'clock and twelve o'clock, there will be two magnificent fireworks displays.
