  • The Campfire Creep: Teens, UFOs & The Vanishing Man in Black
    Nov 28 2025
In 1966, six Denver high school students went camping at Daniels Park — and stumbled into one of the strangest cases of UFO and paranormal crossover ever recorded. Known as The Campfire Creep, the group reported buzzing noises, footsteps on the roof, a tall man in a black coat who vanished before their eyes, and glowing egg-shaped craft that disabled their car as they fled. In this episode of Just Another Tin Foil Hat, Zelia Edgar dives deep into this bizarre night — exploring how it blurs the lines between UFO encounters, hauntings, and classic poltergeist phenomena. Was it a visitation, a shared hallucination, or something that slips between dimensions? ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 – Intro: The Campfire Creep Case 01:20 – The Teenagers of Daniels Park 03:45 – The Lighted Object & Humming Noise 06:10 – The Tall Man in the Black Coat 08:05 – Footsteps on the Roof 10:00 – Egg-Shaped Lights & Engine Failure 12:40 – Police Reaction & Other Witnesses 15:15 – Haunted Campsite or UFO Encounter? 17:30 – Blurring the Lines: UFOs & Poltergeists 19:45 – Zelia’s Final Thoughts Subscribe to Just Another Tin Foil Hat on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JustAnotherTinFoilHat #UAP #UFOs #Paranormal #ZeliaEdgar #JustAnotherTinFoilHat #HighStrangeness #ParanormalStories #UnexplainedMysteries #HauntedEncounters #StrangePhenomena #CosmicWeirdness Learn more about your ad choices. • Take Me To Your Influencer: The Original Space Bros of the Contactee Era
    Nov 24 2025
In this in-depth conversation, Ryan sits down with historian, author, and host of The Saucer Life, Aaron Gulyas. They break down the fascinating exploration of the Contactee Movement, those early UFO claimants who said they met benevolent “Space Brothers” from Venus, Mars, and beyond. From George Adamski’s iconic photographs and cosmic philosophy, to George Van Tassel’s channelings of Ashtar and the rise of the Integratron, to the absolutely wild saga of Reinhold Schmidt, a part-time grain buyer, part-time flying saucer felon. Aaron breaks down the origins, motives, influence, and patterns behind these enduring stories. They also discuss how contactee lore still echoes through modern UFO discourse, why these narratives keep resurfacing, and whether any of these individuals might have experienced something genuinely anomalous. I'm pretty disappointed in this podcast. While Ryan seems pretty nice in the first handful of episodes, he starts acting like a totally different person depending on who his guests are later on. This was so annoying, because he'd make it sound like he agreed with an ETH believer in one episode then in the next completely bash that hypothesis and make it sound like we were stupid if we thought that theory made sense.

None of us know anything. None of us have physical proof or evidence of anything. I was really looking forward to hearing different ideas and broadening my knowledge. But I didn't want to be made to feel foolish for a belief in the ETH when his guests often never even brought up a counter argument for me to consider. If not aliens, then what? I guess I'll just Google current theories and stop listening to this podcast.

Not as Open Minded as I Hoped

It's hard to find UFO-related stuff that isn't 90% frenzied speculation. This is a rare gem. Kind of like the podcast version of The Phenomenon. Ryan does a great job of walking the line between blind skepticism and blind belief. He may do an episode about a crazy-sounding mythical event, then bring on the one guest who could actually add some real light to it. And then he'll interview that guest from the perspective of somebody who also thinks it sounds crazy but is considerate and open minded enough to hear somebody out if it's the right somebody. He won't grill the guest like a debunker, but also won't just believe everything without some interesting evidence. This seems like it really draws out some fantastic insight from the guests, who are typically experts on that particular event/aspect.

Anyway, he captures well the perspective of somebody who would like all those great stories about UFOs to be true, but also has a reasonable expectation of evidence & proof. Definitely my favorite UFO podcast!

A thoughtful take on UFOs with ideal guests.

This podcast is great! I liked it so much I even became a Patreon subscriber.
I have read so many great books that I would have never known about without Ryan! He does a great job with storytelling and is very thorough when interviewing. I highly recommend Somewhere in the Skies, especially if you are an open minded intellectual.

Love this podcast

I started off liking the podcast and he would always say he doesn't like to do politics and I liked that I just wanted a nice ufo podcast. Well after listening to a lot of his episodes I noticed politics coming up more and having nothing to do with UFOs it was just bashing the right calling them a cult blah blah blah. I don't align my self with the right or left because I can agree with both sides on some subjects but him and his guests that talk political will make you feel like a horrible person if you don't agree with what they see. I have unfollowed the podcast to find a better one.
