    Bio: I’ve always been a believer that you can achieve anything if you have the right mindset. There are those people who want a simple job where they show up, do their work, check their boxes, and go home with a paycheck, without any thought about what’s next. I am not that kind of person, I am on a journey. I always have my eye on the future of the work I am doing to get anything that I am involved in to the next level.

    I’ve found growth in my career by pushing the boundaries around me. Even when my position seemed to be a dead end, I worked to forge a new path where one did not exist and have been successful. I’m always looking to learn and grow in my position so that I can perform at a higher level, lead at a higher level, and generate the desired results.

    In all aspects of my life, I’ve always found my way into some sort of leadership role, whether I intended to or not. Some may call me a natural born leader but it’s really the combination of work ethic, confidence, and the right mindset that make being a leader happen organically. From youth sports, boy scouts, school, and college athletics to my current professional career, this has reigned true. Leadership has become a passion that I look to continuously grow and improve in.

    Marketing and creative design defined my career for the first 7 years before stepping into a formal leadership position at my firm. Today, I get to use the marketing and creative knowledge and skillsets acquired over the past decade to help lead a team of high-performing marketing professionals at large financial firm.

    Guest Bio: With over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, George provides objective advice and quality service for individuals and their families, small business owners, and business executives — working with all of them to create a holistic financial plan.     George created a team of highly experienced professionals with specific areas of expertise to best serve the needs of his clients.     Since joining Barnum Financial Group in 2002, George has earned numerous recognitions for his work on behalf of his clients. When Barnum was a part of MetLife, he qualified for MetLife’s prestigious Presidents Conference in 2003-2006, 2008, and also MetLife’s Leaders Conference in 2007 and then 2009-2014. After transitioning to MassMutual, George has been a perennial conference qualifier.

    George has a strong belief in giving back to those in need of a helping hand. He fully endorses and encourages the team’s efforts towards the highly important organizations in our community. As represented on the ‘Community Involvement’ page, there has been great joy in spending time with local charities and contributing to their causes.

    Staying involved and active in the local community, George was a founding board member of the Foundation for Life, Inc., a nonprofit organization that strives to improve the quality of life for the people and families it serves through actions that promote change and deepen connections within our communities. He currently resides in Southington with his fiancé. They spend their days enjoying time with their six children, between them, and one golden retriever.
