  • How to Build a New Business 🛠
    Aug 12 2024

Today's episode is all about being a beginner! Let's say you want to start a new career, or a new business, or possibly just build a new skill or offering within your existing business. How do we go about starting something new? How do we pivot slowly but surely towards the thing we want to do?

I am currently in the process of building towards becoming a professional photographer, alongside my existing business (which I still very much enjoy!). It's still early days, but I have already learned *so much* and I wanted to share with you what the journey has been like so far. I'm using examples from my own story, but these principles are broad enough to apply to any new things you're taking on, too.

  • 7 Tools for Slowpreneurs 🧰
    Jul 15 2024

As I am sure you know by now, I'm a bit of a systems geek! It's a big part of my "slowpreneur framework", which has three major components: strategy, systems & self-care. In my experience, having all three of these pieces set up in an intentional way is what unlocks your ability to have a business that feels good and sustainable to run. 🙏🏼

So today we're talking about the systems part of things! On this episode, I'm sharing my seven most-recommended tools for slowpreneurs, based on what we want more of. Each of these recommendations is tailored towards a feeling that you're craving, whether it's more calm, more momentum, more confidence, or anything in between. Technology isn't magic, but it can be hugely supportive if we use it to our advantage. ⚡️

PS. Do you have any tools or apps that help you feel calmer & more productive? I'd love to hear about them!

  • Quitting the Internet with Sarah Von Bargen 👋🏼
    May 20 2024

On today's episode I'm interviewing Sarah Von Bargen about her decision to step back from public internet life and adopt a more sustainable business model for herself.

I've been a fan of Sarah's for years, ever since she was first blogging on Yes and Yes, and long before she was selling courses. So imagine my sadness, delight and envy when she announced her internet retirement! I was so intrigued by her decision and was so excited about this opportunity to ask her more about it. In this episode you'll hear more about the reality of running an online course business, how she stepped away, and her advice for anyone else quitting the internet. It's a fascinating episode that I found really inspiring and helpful.

  • How to Set Gentle Boundaries 🔑
    Dec 4 2023

As a solo business owner, it can be really tough to set boundaries with clients. We need to have policies that protect us, but speaking those out loud and enforcing them with others can feel super scary, if not next to impossible. 🙈

It's also pretty hard to figure out when to be disciplined with your boundary-setting, and when to be more flexible. When we should give people the benefit of the doubt, and when we should hold firm. This is why gentle boundary-setting is an art, not a science.

In today's episode, I'm sharing two recent stories that illustrated for me some of the principles and values that I believe in when it comes to gentler, more human boundary-setting. Remember: there are no "right answers", there are only answers that feel right to you. ❤️

  • Sustainable Social Media with Kirsti McNabney 📱
    Nov 20 2023

On today's episode, I'm interviewing social media strategist and event planner Kirsti McNabney, whose mission is to help you connect with your ideal clients in-person and digitally.

If you're somebody who has a major love-hate relationship with social media (🙋🏻‍♀️), this is the episode for you. Kirsti's approach centres authenticity, community, and building true connection with the people you interact with online. We talk a lot about why social media "best practices" might not be right for you, and how you can create a social media presence that actually feels good for you to sustain.

I found Kirsti's wisdom so fresh and helpful, and I know you'll love her advice in this episode.
